Follow Max in this documentary as he prepares to make history by becoming the youngest Formula One driver ever. Watch as he trains on the Red Bull Racing simulator, gains his super license, and prepares for the upcoming season.
Very Nice film, well shot informative and kept you watching the whole way thru, a rare thing for me these days haha, well done and GO MAX! all the best for your future from here Aug 2020
*coughs* ... result accepted, but ... such a stink around that championship ... a shame as it's not his fault ... it was the championship will make many switch off for good.
Because the implications to the sport are further reaching than just Max ‘winning’. He will always be known as the champion who wasn’t really. Hence the caveat when acknowledging him as such.
"I still have some years in front of me to try and be the youngest F1 Grand Prix winner, so I will try to go for that." He did become just that a lot sooner than everyone thought, and now he is breaking just about every record there is. Max Verstappen truly is the talent of the century.
the trick now is to do what Hamilton hasn't been able to and win a record 8 world championships...of course the odds in reality are against it, but who would actually bet against it?
thats not exactly true. marko and anyone who had been watching his career up to f1 knew exactly just how talented max was. thats why he got a seat at 16, they knew he was a once in a generation talent and wanted him in f1 as soon as he was ready and didnt want to put any of his career to waste
When I met Jos at a hotel a few years ago, I told him..." You've done a great job with your son, and you should be extremely proud as a father!" He smiled and thanked me for the kind words.
Max Verstappen is the best talent after Senna and Michael Schumacher. He is a talent. In actual F1 the best talent drivers are Max, Leclerc and Alonso. Max won against Mercedes the best car. Max is a god on the tracks. He is brave.
+Union Jxck A lot of children of great drivers will be successful themselves, because they have the opportunity to start at a really young age. Max was 4 1/2 when he started driving a cart, and soon he owned his own cart. How many children are in the same situation? Maybe a few hundred world wide. Example: if Roger Federer got his first tennis experience at age 12, nobody would have heared of him. No matter how talented he is, he just wouldn't be able to beat the guys that started at 8 or earlier. It's that simple in sports. To stay at tennis: there are litteraly millions of boys that pick up a racket before they are 8 years old, and they can practice the sport for about $200 a year. Practicing carts costs about $60,000 a year. Conclusion: if you have the money, and are willing to invest that much in your son, there is a reasonable chance he will become a successful professional driver (educated guess: 1/100). In tennis maybe one in 100,000 boys will reach that goal. If anyone has a better theory, please post;-)
You have to start young and be the best at the level your on consistently so people notice you, if you have family with a lot of money and even better family members who drove in f1 or worked in f1 its makes it whole lot easier for the right people to be noticing you e.g rosberg. Lewis Hamilton is the the exception though he has shown you dont need a family with a lot of money however his talent is very rare and his father made it his lifes mission to get lewis as far as he can in racing working numerous jobs all day every day just to get enough money to race and that allowed Lewis to get in the position where mclaren were interested in him at a young age. So the point is if you think you can get to highest level of motorsport through talent to get sponsors you have to be best every time, at the front every race otherwise people wont notice you, but also to be at the front every race doesn't just take talent and a level head it takes a lot of money to start with to ensure your kart is competitive to be able to compete at the front. Therefore to become a top driver in motorsport nowadays you have to 1. Start at a very young age 2. Have a lot of money to begin with to give you the chance to have a competitive kart 3. Have the talent and total commitment from not just yourself but others around you in your team 4. Be able to establish connections with the right important people in the industry early in your career.
Soon 3 times world champion. What a story !! Already now at least one of the best of all times. And he will even get better in the future. Even at that age not only talented but also such a proffesional expert in his buisness!
I was surprised to find out he was that good even back before F1! I have to be honest, I wasn’t a fan of him because I thought he’s only winning because he’s in Redbull but I clearly see that Max IS and has ALWAYS been a true bada$$! Go Max!
I am happy to head David being the voice over. He has been supportive to Max from the very beginning. Amazing to see this is already 8 years ago, how time flies. 2 time WDC, going to his third. He has grown and mattured and really has become one we will remember in a few years as an all time great in the same way we see Senna, Schumacher and Hamilton as all time greats. 17:50 holy cannoli, the confidence in that remark. Not a doubt in his mind..... and he was right.
That’s David C? Damn! How’d I miss that?? Thanks! Yeah, David has always been different and supportive to both Seb and Max in the face of the other British commentators.
Man I've got the most respect for this kid, I know theres a lot of young guys out there identical to me who want this life so badly, I grew up racing go-carts on dirt ovals i wanted to race cup cars when I got older. I always looked at racing as a profession never as a hobby, after a few years of racing short track cars (open wheel modifieds, pro trucks, and late models) It was very hard to overlook the fact that all the extremely competitive drivers my age were either related to nascar legends or had millions of dollars to spend on there careers. Now I work in construction I'm putting my self through college and I feel so ordinary I hate seeing my old go-carts and race cars in my shop collecting dust covered in spider webs. some dreams die i guess. this kid is awesome tho amazing driver.
jordan glenn yea cars and this stuff are literally what i live for and it sucks that i found out this burning passion only at like 16-17 , its the only job where i can actually say that i would love every second of it, i wouldn’t consider and part of the job hard work just because i love it so much, i never raced competitively i wish i did
@@petemiller519 Wasn't meant for me but thank you.In my final year of Uni and i'm really struggling and doubting myself cuz it's become so hard.Thank you for this message,i hope to finish well☺
Lmao you guys are sane?... winning his first race in a top team. At the age of 18 and you guys still wearing blinders... even if he never wins a WDC if unlucky with car he still will be remembered forever because of his records.
Who else is watching in 2019?!?! Dutch television has this documentary Up 4 years ago... (as per the subtitles). only 17 years old! ... and now he's competing head to head with Lewis Hamilton - arguably the best f1 driver of the last generation. Max is part of the new guard, along with Leclerc, Russell, and Norris....all vying for the title of the Next Great Champion. He's come along such a far way these past 4 years, considering his brain is still developing at 21 years young.
And now he’s 4th in the championship, has 5 wins (the first one being his debut for Red Bull Racing in Barcelona 2016) and 22 podiums! Well done Max give it a few more years and you’ll be world champion!
The way he kept his head cool amidst all the chaos in Hungary caused by older and more experienced drivers and drove to P4 was just brilliant and shows how mature he is for a 17 y/o rookie. The force is strong in this one...
I'm in 2021 and been a massive Max fan since i found F1 3 years ago. Now I have my 2 year old daughter on the Max train as well. Hoping he can take this lead into winning the championship.
🌏2021 CHAMPION OF THE WORLD 🌏 … MAX VERSTAPPEN……’’’THE YOUNG BULL’’’…..24 year old Best Driver in the World…… Max will take the Championships from here on in….. He’s the next Senna! No compromise Lad. We love you MAX Red Bull are the Best Team for Max.
Watching this just one week after Monaco ‘21: 1) Verstappen 105 pts 2) Hamilton 101 pts… Whether it’s this year, in ‘22 or whenever: this guy wíll be WC in F1 one day. Amazing talent and by maturing and getting more experienced, he’s getting better every year.
@@Nick-cs9dt Well, he certainly matured since he was world champion the first time in his young life. It’s a natural process though: if you’ll wait long enough, ik might even happen to you!
@@MvGLeentje I was cheering right there with you all the way from the states. GO MAX!! without Max, the hybrid era would have been a 100% domination by Merc. Now they can never say that. Lol
2023 6 races in and his third World Driving Championship in a row seems inevitable. He's won at Spa, Suzuka, Monaco, Silverstone, Monza, Imola...you name a famous track, he's won on it. By the end of June, he will have matched and exceeded the great Ayrton Senna in wins. 25 years old now and he has become a champion's champion.
@@JU5TINPDX He could overtake Prost by the end of the year, which would be unreal. Prost, Vettel, Schumacher and Hamilton...He's becoming one of the GOATs.
Since he came on the scene I knew that he had talent and since this film was made he's a 2time world champion on his way to his third he is up there with senna prost mansell Schumacher Jos kept him grounded and the results speak for themselves 🎉🎉🎉
He still has time and he's just a fabulous racing driver, who has succeeded in making Formula one exciting again. I hope we will have another race like Interlagos in the rain , those pursuits in low visibility conditions really showed what makes Max special and Senna-like.
This kid seems like talented driver, I will be not surprised when he'll score some podiums in F1, maybe World Champion Title, maybe mulitiple times. ;)
And now he is a beast eventhough his car hasn't reached the optimum level yet. He is waiting to have his RB Honda capable of winning races and he will do the rest. No doubt about his resemblance to that F1 legend, the late Ayrton Senna. We can see Senna in him. The type of guy who's going all out in racing and always go for a gap.
After being involved as a fan of motorsport, and particularly single-seater racing for 40 years, I have seen a host of super talented drivers come through the junior ranks, even as far back as their karting careers - imho, I have not seen such a talented natural driver since Ayrton Senna, as I have in Max. Sure over the years there have been great drivers. Schumacher, Hamilton, Alonso, Hakkinen, Prost, etc. Max is primed to be the King of F1 and, my ultimate dream is for him to have a car good enough to take it to Hamilton, one which I'm totally convinced he'll win!
...... then 8 years later we watch this and marvel at what he is STILL accomplishing and the records he is breaking and on the verge of his 3rd World Drivers Championship :)
Love him, hate him... You can not deny Max has an insane amount of talent. Ofc he does stupid things and close to the edge but at least he spiced things up.
I always hear he does /did stupid things … but what ? …. Very few of the crashes that happened he is to blame … but what else ? Just can’t get that strange love him or hate him vibe….
@@katjaboelieable it’s because people are clever enough to get out of his way. How many times did Hamilton have to drive wide because he goes careering on in a corner? Compare to Silverstone when Max doggedly turns in and crashes. People still think that is all Hamilton fault.
@@Nick-cs9dtell, the FIA are with me when viewing it as Ham’s fault; of course I’m sure you think they are a bunch of amateurs compared to you. And also, regardless, he’s all grown up now and the point is moot….he’s a g-d dam Godzilla now, and one of the least crash and mistake prone racers on the grid now. 💪
@@mamavswild Everyone has learnt their lesson. Don’t go near that loon, there’ll be no mutual respect if you do. If the other driver is technically in the wrong then no allowances will be made, resulting in crashes or the other person yielding…but it doesn’t work the other way round. Time and time again we saw this. At least you acknowledge that he was not grown up before. We can agree on that, however, I strongly suspect that as soon as there’s a car to challenge his no1 position we are going to see tantrums even bigger than last time…we shall see.
sometimes i still forget that Max Verstappen is still one of the youngest driver on the circuit at 2018, only, ocon, leclerc and stroll are a bit younger or same age, but those drivers are nowhere near the talent that Max has.
@@fastcougar3200 The fact you even calls him, disrespectfully ''crashstappen'' instead of his actual name is pure proof that you simply don't like him and wants to see Leclerc win championships. Favouritism rendering you blind to the truth that Verstappen is, like Leclerc, a championship driver. Even pro's and commentators who have been right into the mix with F1 for decades acknowledge his talents, so by saying he'll never be a championship, you're basically saying that all those people with 20, 30, perhaps 40 years of F1 experience are wrong.
Go Max go!!! Love you too Charles! Such a special memory when you took 1st place at Spa, the Belgium Grand Prix 2019 just one day after the fatal crash of your long time friend Anthoine Hubert. An amazing accomplishment! Both of you will go far in Formula 1 and bring much pleasure to your fans.
