I've watched soooo many golf videos of shots on a simulator waiting for somebody to finally hole one. 3:26 was sooo satisfying haha. Great stuff guys!!
After watching this video...ordered 6doz Maxfli Tour X from Golf Galaxy. 2 dozen priced st $45US, personalized for free and with $30 reward points ends up at $1.57 per ball...THANK YOU for this and for all your great videos! Loved the "Didn't have to eat your fiancee" comment on the bomber video, classic! All of which is why you are the best youtube channel for golfers, full stop.
I used to play the Maxfli Tour in matte green as my go to ball as 2 dozen for $50 in the states is difficult to beat. It's the ball I suggest for all of my friends who are budget conscious and don't want to pay shipping on Vice Pro Soft or who want more than gloss white from Kirkland's. Another great comparison video!
I’ve used both Maxflis now. Like the x now I’m the softer conditions of spring. I’ll probably switch for firmer faster conditions of the summer. Thanks for the great testing. I’m sold!
I picked the game back up after almost 7 years away due to illness and injuries. After reading reports from MGS and others i went with the Maxfli Tour X. After my first 2 rounds out in years I love the ball. It's been really long off the driver and consistent yardages off the irons and wedges.
Just came across your channel, and I found it to be informative and entertaining...No hype or prejudice concerning one ball (Titleist), over the other (Maxfli), ball...GOOD JOB!!! There are several other amazing ball brands out there that don't get the respect they deserve! Bridgestone, Srixon, Top Flight (Gamer is a HIDDEN GEM), and Volvik just to name a few! It's ALWAYS: Titleist, Taylor Made and Calloway that get most of the publication!!! SHAME on the Golfing World SNOBS!!! I'm in the camp of matching the ball (Compression, Ball Speed, Spin etc...), up to the players (New and Amateur), abilities (i.e. age, swing speed, needs etc...), REGARDLESS of the brand, so that he or she can achieve the best score they can, and enjoy a game that those of us that play it do as well!!! P.S. New Subscriber...Thanks for your HONESTY!!!
I played the Maxfli tour for the first time a week or so ago. Used 1 ball the complete round and it held up with minimal scuffs on the surface. And it feel very good!!!
i play the tour x and i have gained at least 5 yrds on the irons and about 30 on the driver, i was playing the kirkland before and it used to spin up to 4500.... i love this ball.
Big fan of Maxfli balls. Started way back with the Revolution, but as recent as the U6, the U-Fli and now the Tour. Shot my best round this year with the Maxfli Tour, an 81. I'm a 14,3 index and have my most issues with the flat stick. One wayward drive, trying to chew too much off of a dogleg, and two 3-putts. Love the CG line on the ball. Ball rolls so nice off of the putter. Great ball, especially when you catch the two for $50 deal.
I use to love the Maxfli Rovolution. I can recall Freddie Couples playing it for a few years. It was so spiny back in the day and long. Would love sleeve. Glad to see they are still around.
Nice video and super consistent swinging Matt! - however once you start hitting little soft touch shots around the green, for me the ProV1 always seems to stop a 1m or so quicker than the others, but I suppose it depends on each person's own chipping style.
Hey guys. Am loving the videos. New golfer here. Just got for locally for a driver /3W and 5W. Was a good experience. Now needing to get irons/hybrids and wedges. So... have a great video idea. You guys should do a fitting/bag set up on a newish golfer:). I know a guy who’d volunteer:).
If you were playing the Tour Response because it was $35/doz but then stopped because it went up to $40/doz, just get the Maxfli Tour. It's slightly firmer and goes longer but very similar with a much better cover. You can also buy 4 doz at a time for $120.
Wow, another enlightening video from you guys, thanks! Going to order a dozen and give them a try now. I told you previously, but I hope you guys are earning commission rips off of this lol
Hey guys. Would be great if you had a WITB 2020 video for each of your bags, as you are both now 2 of my favourite golfers 😀. Thanks for the great content and great analysis. Good luck for 100k followers.
I know this is late…. But the Tour X is fantastic on course, I’d honestly put it neck & neck w/the Pro V1, and above the TM, Callaway, Bridgestone offerings.
Considering all the emphasis on another you tube channel about quality and manufacturing tolerances, do you think those factors would explain the price differences since the performance doesn't seem to justify it?? Great video guys!!!
Back about 13-14 years ago I picked up several dozen Maxfli Revolution Tour balls on closeout after the Maxfli brand got picked up by Dick's. At that time, I felt that their performance was superior to the Pro V1. The (now old) Rev Tour balls still play OK, but now feel harder off the club face and shorter than now-current premium balls.
They are on sale 2 dozen for $50 all the time. I use Bridgestone when playing money games or a amateur tournament but use the Maxfli tour for practice and or regular playing.
I'd be curious to see a test of two or more generations of the same ball. For instance, since ProV1x is now more spinny than V1, did they do that by changing V1 or V1x, or both? If you've been fitted to a particular ball, do you need to start over the next time the product cycle turns over?
Would love to see a test comparing Maxfli, Bridgestone e12, & Tailor-made tour response. All roughly in the same price point, but it would be nice to know which is best for different swing speeds.
I know that it would be different , but what about a golf ball comparison with someone who doesn’t swing like you , but much slower like most of us. A true comparison for weekend and more
Found a Lee Trevino in the trees the other day Bandit as soon as I find my way back to the course I will toss it out on the fairway for ya. 😂 Maybe our motto should be to boldly go where no golfer ever hits it. Hmm 🤔 maybe TXG and Arccos should have tag that sets off Matty’s 🚨 old subscriber light when we are struggling on the course. TXG to the Rescue 😂
@@whiskerrub3821 wow that sounds like a collector's item Whisker, I will look out for it when I'm playing on Sunday. Thanks to Ian & Matty telling me that I need two swings (one for my driver and another for my Irons) I may need International Rescue, TXG Rescue and AA on Sunday 🤣🤣🤣
2 for 45 special is always running on these and the performance is competitive enough on course for me! The matte version durability is awful though. Have to get the traditional finish
I personally play the taylormade project a. Not quite as long off the tee with driver but on course around the greens and short irons/mid irons, i don't find much difference. Price is what keeps me away from new prov1s.
Great Video! Amazing ball & price. What ball should I consider. I’m 67, play Pro V1 now (3.5 index) I’ve lost half a club distance on irons (7i 145) low flight, my driver carry 210-215 mid flight. My driver swing speed is 86-89 mph. Help!
Does anyone know who actually makes this ball? Is It actually designed by DSG/Maxfli or is it a copy of old technology? Do they have their own or dedicated plant? It is my ball of choice, but they are getting limited in stores.
TXG Tour Experience Golf Maybe see if there is anything to that in a putting orientation session? Or test Check Go and that possibly? Putting is so hard to quantify though.
Hi guys. I've just been fitted for Mizuno MMC 6 to Pw, 4 and 5 in HMB. In a nippon 120. I swing a 7 iron at 85mph. Is this something you would recommend
if you were fitted for it, than its a good chance it will fit you pretty well. that said, it could have been a bad fitter. I dont know where you went or anything.
Rather depends on your ability as a golfer and how much you load the club in transition. But MMC is a great club, with a 85 mph swing speed with a 7i you are probably in a stiff flex, Nippon is a quality shaft. So it probably depends on how comfortable you are with the weight. If your dispersion is pretty tight and you are getting the flight and distance you expect then it is a good fit!
It costs more because they can make their sales numbers that that price. If people stopped paying for the Titleist 'gap' then they would have to lower the price. It isn't justified in performance.
It never fails. I think of buying a new wedge, the next day you guys post a video reviewing wedges. I think of switching to a more affordable golf ball and you guys post a video about it 12 hours later. Keep up the mind reading, it helps me out a lot
Been using the maxfli since it came out absolutely love it... I play everything titleist except the ball because of this ball and the savings of it... awesome test fellas ... time to grab some more stock in maxfli tours... thanks
walter You do you. Sometimes the have a BOGO from what people have shared. Another good option. You spend your money as you see fit. Performance was there or at least comparable. Lots of good options out there ball wise.
I normally game the Z-Stars. I have liked the Maxfli Tours as much, if not better than them. I shot my first ever even par 9 with Maxfli... So there is that
I bet the reason a Pro V costs more has a lot to do with advertising. You guys keep saying for the "budget conscience". If they perform the same why buy the more expensive ball? Is it just to say I play a Pro V?
When I started playing golf in the mid-90s, I used to love Maxfli. I always played Maxfli golf balls, sorting through the bucket of lake balls to find the good looking ones. I have a Maxfli 7 wood as a 14 year old that was great fun, and my very first golf bag was a Maxfli one. I remember growing up watching Ian Woosnam play Maxfli clubs and it was just great. Nice to see them back, but I doubt they'll make it to the UK.
WOW!!! I played Maxfli balls in my youth and never considered anything else these days then Pro V1s, Chromesofts, TP5s etc. Eye opening. Thanks for bringing back old memories.
Love what Dick's has done with Maxfli and Tommy Armour brands. This was my second season with this ball. Love the matte finish, and feel. Great value product that is often 2 dozen for $50 .
The reason “premium” balls and clubs are the price they are is marketing. The products are very good of course, but a $35 premium ball becomes $45-$50 due to marketing budget.
Good Lord! Hitting a 7 iron well over 180 yards is wild to me! I'm hitting 4 or maybe, just maybe a 5 lol. Who's the dude hitting it and why isn't he a tour player?
I actually have a few of the Tour Xs, and I like them. Did Matt say anything in terms of the feel differences between the balls? (maybe I missed it in the video)
Great video guys! I started playing Tour Response this year loved the way it played and even after watching ur video I knew it was a great pick for the money! I picked up a sleeve of the Soft Response matte Red and I think it flew straighter and longer today then the Tour, I would like to see you guys do the two of them and for $25 you can’t beat that for that Taylormade name!
Love this review. Great test. Its actually what I wanted to see/hear. Curious how this will be for me as golfer who is a slower speed...about 100 mph SS.
kris bretz I mean, for me it definitely is because I’m losing those pretty quickly and can’t hit consistent enough as-is. But for a pro or higher level player every extra bit of spin or yard of distance counts.
They also make these in matte green which I love. One of the MyGolfSpy guys said we should not being using matte balls because of the way they behave in wet conditions. I'd be interested to see you all test matte balls vs normal white balls. Love the content!
I am the average golfer. I love this ball (Maxfli Tour X) and have committed to it for 2020. Back in May I purchased 5 dozen at $17.34 a dozen on a flash sale. Had my normal $10 off a $50 purchase coupon. $76.70 before tax. This summer I can hit 4 dozen in the woods or the water (and I will 💖) and still have 12 balls left. The four dozen I just sadly departed with is equivalent to what I would have paid for a dozen pro v1 🎉🎊😊 Set aside the money, It’s just a nice overall ball. I love the consistency with the putter as well.... that is important
When I worked at Dicks people would ask me to reccomend balls to them and I would always say Maxfli Tour.. They often would go from trusting me enough to recommend a ball to thinking Im somehow getting a paycheck by selling them the house brand. Funny stuff.
This is great!!! Been waiting for this. I’ve played the TourX exclusively for the last 2 seasons. Definitely comparable in my experience. Today on the Dick’s website the are 2 dozen for $45 with free shipping. You can’t beat that. The standard Tour comes in Yellow also. And if you haven’t heard avoid the matte finish for a multitude of competitive shot performance related items. Specifically moisture. That is any matte ball manufacturer in general.
