Hellow everyone, this can be found in a video of a play that I had been wanting to do for a while actually. I hope you like this skirt idea and give you some creative ideas.
Measures :
In order to start and understand this video here are the steps I used.
- You will need your waistline (high or not)
- The skirt length you want.
I made this skirt with pleats like you can find for schoolgirl skirts.
How to know the fabric yardage?
The calculation is simple, I will perform this calculation with my measurements.
Waist size: 74 cm
Fold width: 4 cm
The formula :
Waist circumference divided by pleat width
74/4 = 18.5 (I round up to 19 cm)
Fold width multiplied by 3 (because I need three times my waist size)
4x3 = 12
I then multiply these two results
19x12 = 228
So I need 228 cm of fabric in order to have enough to make my folds to my measurement.
The length of the skirt is your choice, for mine I am 87 cm.
