Maxillary Molar Root Canal - The Hunt for MB2 

just got mine done a few hours ago, was extremely painless, was extremely stressed during the anesthetic process but i was immediately calmed down when i realized "Oh god, this doesnt hurt at all" and just let it happen. For anyone nervous about root canals, always trust the anesthetic!

I had my first root canal done today (upper left molar). I guess I didn't respond well to the anaesthetic despite multiple shots or that particular tooth is harder to numb. Unfortunately I felt quite some pain occasionally when my roots were being cleaned out when the dentist got to the deep parts. Luckily my dentist gave me extra anaesthetic shots to help and she proceeded to be a bit more gentle whenever possible. It was still an unpleasant experience. The pressure when they press down into the root and the clamp holding your mouth open were the most painful parts. My dentist and the dental assistant were angels though. They were very kind and kept me updated on what was happening. Every with the after pain I already feel so much better than with the toothache I had before

got a root canal today and thankfully it didn’t hurt at all! honestly getting my cavities filled hurt worse 💀

I have done my root canal today lower left middle ,I didn't feel any pain, my anesthesia is upto 3 hours, after that also I didn't get any pain...thank you lord..😄😃

I had my first root canal a week ago and I was so nervous. But the anesthesia kicked in quickly and I didn’t feel any pain. And my tooth has felt so much better since!!

I've had several root canals over the years getting my teeth fixed and only having so much dental insurance available per year, but it never was painful, just a long process of laying back in the chair with your mouth wide open! Find a dentist that makes you feel comfortable!!!

I've had 4 root canals done, most recent one today, and I've had different expeirences with each of them. I've had 4 done by the age of 19 due to a combination of neglecting my teeth when I was a kid, eating disorders and bad genetics, but that's beside the point. I've had my top outer incisors and both of my top premolars, the ones right next to the canines done. The incisor on my left is okay but the one on my right ended up going super horribly somehow. When my dentist accidentally poked through my gum from inside of my tooth, instant tears and a scream from me even with anaesthetic and trust me I was numbed UP. Because the only pain I can't hande is tooth pain, especially at the dentist. That ended up taking an extra surgery to fix later on but (knocking on wood) for now it's doing well. My premolar on my left also went pretty bad in that I had it done back in I believe 2018, but recently in january it developed an abcess that i'm still treating with medications after 2 surgeries on it. Today I had my other premolar done and it was a very spontaneous thing. Everytime I go to the dentist she asks me if I want anaesthetic in a joking way because she knows I'll always say yes, but when she actually got to look in my tooth she realised that it was bad, and ended up just giving me a root canal because there was no saving that tooth. Didn't feel any pain today besided the jabs from the anaesthetic, but yeah, that's about all I have to say about my root canal experience, no one really cares but I just fonud this to be a nice place to talk about my dentist experiences. Now I take great care of my teeth with brushing, flossing and everything else, but the damage from my younger years cannot be undone.

I had a root canal 2 days ago, procedure was completely pain free. There was pain for a few hours after the procedure but it was mild and gone by the next day. 2 days later all pain has gone and I can chew normally again 😁

Had mine done today on upper left molar... took 40 minutes.. no pain what so ever... but hey my dentist is also retiring in 3 years... and was blasting garage music like acdc the whole time haha. So I'm thinking I was his 10000000 root canal.

Had 2 treatments done about 9 years ago. Haven’t had any pain or discomfort in the teeth I had done. 30 and 19. I genetically have bad teeth, I need one done on 10 because it chipped but I don’t think it’s abscessed. Number 29 definitely is and I’m currently experiencing pain. I brush and mouthwash, but will admit I don’t floss. They want to bridge 29 and 30 but I don’t have the money to cover that unless I elect just to have that treatment done. I’ve had a filling pulled out accidentally during a recent deep cleaning. I need to make another appointment within the next week or 2. At least to get painkillers until treatment. I was so nervous going into my first root canal treatment, the worst part, was the lidocaine injections.

I just got this done a few days ago and Im scheduled to get a crown in a couple of weeks

I'm so jealous of everyone in the comments. I felt extreme pain during the procedure and it is still painful 3 days later. Going back in a few days to get it looked at again. I hated this procedure so much

My root canal was very painful, I don't want to go through it anymore. If I had known so much pain before, I would not have taken this treatment. God forgive everyone from this problem.

I saw a post that said the procedure wasn't painful due to the local anaesthetic that's used But it's the fucking anaesthetic that hurts the most Going in for my SECOND root canal tomorrow, first one I was screaming due to the pain of the anaesthetic (procedure was fine obviously) NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER GOD DAMN NEEDLE IN MY GUMS

I have mine at 6am tomorrow and it’s 2am right now, I’m petrified because of a lot of the comments I’ve been seeing on how horribly painful during can be for some people, especially since I always need extra numbing shots on normal dentist visits. Pray for me..

i had my pre-molar 2nd root canal done ( my 1st was front teeth 20 yrs ago ) on the left side and everytime before we start i always ask for anaesthetic as i had feeling the pain or needle point and whats worse is i seem to memorize the pain even after the job is done i felt the pain had to stay ..i hate it so much it gives me headache.. but my dent is so patient with me .. he made sure i dont feel the slightest pain ..unless called for like deepest part of the roots should be removed hence no pain remained... if it wasnt near the front part i would have easily had it extracted.. pre molars are still visible when u smile..

The worst parts of a Root canal are the numbing injections, and the recovery pain can be pretty brutal for up to a week. Mine KILLED for like 7 days after, it was horrid even Percocets and high potency cannabis didn't even touch the pain

Sir this seems extremely scary. How can we avoid this fate? Will 2 times brushing avoid this? I only do brush once a day..

Today is four and half days i did root canal treatment third stage, I’m feeling pain when i bite down, don’t know its normal or not, waiting for crown that is two weeks later, but i feels no pain at all during the procedure, and my dentist put some kind of gel in my gum and then she did anaesthesia, i was always scared of needles but that needles I don’t feel anything

Just had my root canal now is sore and pain but during the procedure not pain at all but almost at the end i start feeling a little bit pain is that because the anesthesia wear off?

would you say an MB2 canal this small would be visible in a CBCT scan? or you'd have to hunt for one like this even if nothing is visible in a CBCT

For a self pay patient 3 need this done on 3 teeth.. I was quoted over $1000 per tooth.. it’s ridiculous

How come you don’t use RC Prep or any type of Endo lube? I was told it helps soften the dentin and makes mechanical removal easier ? I’m guessing Bc u don’t believe in it and it doesn’t get into the canal?

hello, nice case. I am also using wave 1 gold files, like the glider and the small yellow wave 1 gold. I encounter difficulties like in this video when try to open rock hard mb2 orificies blocked by dentin. i am also opening them with rotaries. in this case you have used wave 1 gold glider to open or wave 1 gold small yellow? it seems to me is wave one gold yellow small. thank you! great educational endo video full with tips!!
