I'm not sure if anyone has noticed but that rip in the sky is the same thing in the background of Clouds memory (when Tifa pieces his memory together) in FFVII OG.
yeah and a stupid one and selfish one because not everyone finished the game and this guy puts it in the title, also max wouldn't want someone uploading his streams before he has.
I think what happened was this: 1. The version of Cloud from Remake prevented Sephiroth from killing Aerith. However his consciousness still got reverted to the prime timeline where Aerith dies. 2. Now there is one universe with a version of Aerith that survived Sephiroth. 3. This changed the plot of the original game which was: Aerith dies, joins the lifestream and gains control of it from death. 4. Now because there is a living version of "prime" Aerith who apparently is able to transfer consciousness between all of the different Aeriths, she's able to gain control of the "dead" Aerith's that have joined the lifestream. (Different from the original game, because now it means that if there is no version of a living Aerith, there is no dead Aerith that can control the lifestream) 5. We have to also remember that there's still another living Aerith still under comatose in Zack's alternate universe. 6. The ending scene reveals that Cloud is not crazy, but is able to see both universes. (prime and Aerith surviving) 7. Living Aerith will continue to do her work at the temple of the Ancients and gain knowledge on the Lifestream to later save the planet.
I love the game, its a 10/10 for me but, this whole thing really took me out of the whole death scene. During this scene and the boss fight I wasn't sad because Aerith died. I was just confused xD like is she dead or alive. Like I said I love the game but, I feel like the whole universes stuff during her death scene was kinda a meh moment for me. Thanks for comment explanining everything :)
I noticed that the Gi spoke of "filling" the black materia. Perhaps that filling will occur with Cloud allowing a greater Holy fueled by Clouds progress, and redemption after his degredation arc, as well.as with Aeriths actions.
@@malpercio123 I'm not sure it'll be Holy it gets filled with, if that's the route they go. Aerith's Holy materia ends up bouncing off and into the pools around the shrine and eventually down into the Lifestream, where Aerith can access it once she is dead to stop the Meteor. A second Holy materia is superfluous. And I doubt Cloud has the nihilistic desire for death enough to make a second Black Materia or something. Given that we know about how the Black Materia is made, it seems plausible that Cloud could find a way to fill this hollow Materia with the ability to do something entirely unique from any other Materia. I'm wondering what that could be. Maybe it'll be something that can sever the connection between worlds that Sephiroth is dabbling with? Which would mean cutting off the world where Zack lives and that seemingly allows Aerith to be in her weird Schrodingers half-Cetra state between life and death, essentially allowing her to die and enter the Lifestream.
He took it better than I did and I played ff7 as a kid and grew up knowing about Aerith. Learning about the remake and remembering. Playing the 1st game and knowing. As I was forced to walk the path up to the altar I said, "I'm not ready for this" and then I cried for hours probably. Took me 2 days to recover from the drain. Her VA and the animators were so amazing, she felt real. She felt tangible to me. I protected my wife from the spoiler for many many years hoping she would play with me someday and she did. We played remake and rebirth together and she never knew. It was like this incredible burden that I carried and hid and when she finally watched the ending with me we both ugly cried together and I was able to be there for her shock. It was kinda beautiful and while I don't understand the ending of rebirth. at. fucking. all. Square did a great job delivering this crucial necessity and the beauty behind it.
Man the music that plays While Cloud is looking at the black Materia and putting it in his buster sword reminds me of lord of the ring plus Frodo and the ring. Amazing game part 3 is going to be my personal goty.
That's true. I think Cloud will eventually realise what happened and try to find the last living Aerith. But he will fail saving her if they are lining up to AC. If not, we may witness a completely different ending of this story.
There's no timelines. Only planes of existence. Aerith is dead like biggs and zack. All those other planes of existence are not real in a physical sense, in the way timelines would normally be.
Oh that's right, totally forgot about the Crisis Core Remake. Erased that game from my memory. After I beat it on PSP many years ago when Remake came out I just completely ignored it just like I how I ignored The Remake of Type-0, Lmao. Had a buddy who didn't care for type 0 because it was on psp and jumped at the remake because of graphics and im like bruh, it's essentially the same game. Once you beat it, you never really wanna play it again. He shoulda just played my copy. Lol Anywho Darn, what a burned opportunity to use "Reunion". Shoulda titled CC-R as "Soldier First Class" but yet they kinda burned that bridge as well into a mobile shooter instead. Nice Square, real nice.
This had been my thing the whole time when every one was talking about how they thought she was going to live. Aerith has to die, it sucks, we all love Aerith, but if she doesn't die, Sephiroth's plan can't be stopped. So I knew there was no way she wasn't going to die.
@@OpThomastic118 So before I say anything, I am no lore master exactly, but I will tell you what I can remember. I believe the way it works is something along the lines of the caster of Holy must be in the lifestream for it to work.
I feel like the parts that he is reciting, though we don't hear it, and Aerith being lowered in the water, will happen in Part 3, probably in the Lifestream/Mideel section.
With this whole theme of promises with the song and the last few lines of the game, it keeps making me think of the last time they used the words. "Even if the morrow is barren of promises, Nothing shall forestall my return, To become the dew that quenches the land, To spare the sands, the seas, the skies, I offer thee this silent sacrifice."
Holy macaroni this ending was a tear jerker this was an absolutely incredible boss fight hands down in many many years and it's not even the final !!! I am just blown away with how much of an incredible job they did I'm just speechless I hope to heck this game when it's all done gets game of the year I will full out buy all three disc versions or special box set to own this magnificent piece of work.
When clouds holding Aerith and Sephiroth is monologuing about the convergence of pain and anger… man that was so powerful. I felt everything he was saying at that exact moment hahaha. I was so sad but pissed and ready to fight him.
You know, one interesting comment I've seen is that we still haven't gotten Aerith's final weapon Princess Guard or her final limit break Great Gospel, so...
It’s interesting to hear Max get his original assessment here correct about Aerith surviving in another timeline, but then recently changes it to the Jenova theory.
@@ekoms108It does but the whole point of this series is the characters and their defying of their og fate. The story has nothing to do with Jenova. At least not anything more than her original role.
If I had to guess the title edit for the third entry, it'd probably be Reunion (most likely), or Re: Union, or something like Redux. To signify reducing all the timeliness, multiverses and possibilities to 1. And to add to that, I'll bet Omnislash in the end will be something crazy like All possible Clouds, Zacks, maybe even Angeals too. All attacking from all multiverses at once on Sephiroth. Or who knows, we may see a completely reborn, fully in control Jenova for once. Not just reanimated pieces delivered by Sephiroth. And we could see that Sephiroth was the real puppet the whole time. They could also try to mess with you and/or be funny by pulling some Dissidea and drop in other FF characters.
I still belive that the Aerith we see in the end when Cloud sees her beside him at the pool where she is actually put to rest is actually Jenova fucking with him. Same as with the ending cinematic. IF you watch closely to Aerith when she turns around and says: Do you promise?! You can see a red glint in her eyes. I belive that this is Jenova acting as Aerith through Clouds Jenova Cells. She is making him see shit... The Aerith we see just right after the famous death scene when Cloud is holding her and she is alive. I belive THAT is Omni Aerith saying that everything will be alright. If you REALLY pay attention to what is happening (and it is really hard cause of all the other stuff) The way Aerith at the end there is acting... its kinda creepy because Aerith throught the entire game up until this point in the game have tried to have Cloud maybe not face Sephiroth... As she knows that Cloud isn't ready for it. He is mentally unstable to hell and back... And what do you think Jenova would want? Ofc Jenova is going to egg him on to go and fight Sephiroth... Because he is so mentally unstable and she knows that he will be easy pickings for Sephiroth.
I agree with this and came to the same conclusion , I also think Sephiroth isn't the real one. Jenova cane take the form of the dead. So within the lifestream she can use anyone who has already died. The real Sephiroth died and was frozen in the northern crater in the OG storyline.
Here's the thing though, the angle she's standing at, that red could be the reflection of the Tiny Bronco too. I do think it's Jenova messing with Cloud, but there is that possiblity on the red too.
Name of Sephiroth's music in Remake is Rebirth. Name of Sephiroth's music in Rebirth is Reborn. So it may be Reborn. But that is literally the same things as Rebirth. So I think they did that to throw people off. So odd's are the name of part three isn't going to be Reborn. I know they used Reunion for CC, but I have a feeling it will be Reunion still.
The problem with Aerith and sephy existence is, they are multi alive and dead plus part of the livestream, which can easily transcend time and space, or in this case, dimensions.
Sephiroth explained the moment she died the best "it engulfs fleeting moments of joy, transforming them into rage, sadness, hatred" That were definitely the feelings i had. First she is saved only to realise she is not
@@Darinl79i absolutely hate takes like this, some people are just getting into the series and the LEAST others could do is be mindful of that first-time experience, especially when it takes essentially no effort to not spoil something like this
@@ConMan2425 Some people are just stupid as fuck, not to mention that the story is different enough where saying her fate is a massive spoiler to og fans too
FF7: Rejoin, FF7: Return - Remember, the white materia moved from one timeline to another. Also, if cloud sees the tear, it might actually be there. If it is, what does that mean?
@@sameerjafri7 hmm you're the one crying over the ending dude, I didn't even say if I liked it or not. It's not perfect but after I undestood it, I think it's a great move for a retelling of the story, cause almost everyone knew what happened in OG and now again we don't know where they're going. That's why I said the title was a spoiler, you said they "ruined" it cause you thought it would end as OG so you in fact proved my point.
I believe Aerith is still around, but not in Cloud's timeline. Cloud will try to find her last living version and try to prevent Sephiroth from killing her. But he will fail, as Marlene predicted. And Zack will also die somewhere in part 3. Well, provided this is a prequel to AC. If it's not, things may play out differently.
"Sephiroth cannot exist without Cloud." Kind of like how Voldemort can't exist without Harry and the other Horcruxes? Or how Sauron can't exist without the One Ring? That's how I understand this.
U call it epic....I call it poorly written fan service. And it will probably happen, and no matter how nonsensical the explanation they give as to how they're all together (if they try to explain at all), majority will be happy..... with total fan service writing that a 6th grader could have done. SMH. What's wrong w/u ppl?
I suspect it ties with the promise that Nanaki made to the Gi. There will be a way in part 3 to send off/kill entities like the Gi that do not belong or threaten the lifestream. That power could go into the empty materia to kill Jenova/Sephiroth and send of the Gi as well.
@@emile5921 Yeah, maybe that's how the story changes in this game "exist", because Sephiroth and Jenova are still in the lifestream trying to manipulate it to change the timelines away from the original where Sephiroth/Jenova's plan was thwarted by Meteor being stopped, and they have to find a way to beat them for good.
"Why is zack invisible". Because he's in the universe of death, we are seeing the edge of creation where both exitences can interact. We're going to be redoing this fight at the start of the next game and carrying out the death scene again. tifa is seeing reality as well. We also need to let go of this basic understanding of time lines and multiverses, the Lifestream turns all that shit on its head.
I think they hinted at the next title in the ending of part 2 "no promises await at journey's end" My guess on part 3 title Final Fantasy VII, Journy's End. Or they will simply go with Final Fantasy VII, Reunion.
My question was always why does sephiroth need cloud, there are allot more People who remember sephiroth that he can draw from so whats so special about cloud?
If Aerith is gonna be coming back as a ghost regularly then it kinda cheapens the loss and removes the emotional impact of the whole situation. They were too cowardly to resist teasing that she’ll be resurrected somehow in the remake.
I think the most important thing to understand about this entire sequence of events is that even in the "timeline where Aerith was saved", Aerith still collapsed and fell unconscious. She had no reason to in a version where Cloud successfully deflected Sephiroth. It's all in the Lifestream, it's not reality - and we can't see that because we're only seeing it through "Clouded" eyes. It's absolute narrative genius and insanely bold and I love it.
also i'd like to remark that the "Sephiroth and Aerith are from the future" thing is absurd and doesn't actually make any sense within the framework of the story. They're aware of some amount of future events through the Lifestream. Red XIII called that out explicitly in the last chapter of Rebirth.
U call it genius. I call the whole thing unnecessarily convoluted and shameful. The moment should have been about Aerith and the weight of her death. Why they decided to replace an iconic moment fueled by emotion with confusing multi verse bullshit is beyond me. I have no confidence They'll be able to tell a coherent story in part three.
@@bloke1330 Good shout - timing of the static is interesting though. Thought for second maybe in one timeline he finishes off Cloud there and then too..
It could be just Aerith protecting Cloud saying 'it's ok' to protect him because Sephiroth wants negative emotions to fuel his plan. So, if Cloud gets negative it would give Sephiroth an advantage. But yeah, it could be Jenovah too as Max says. The music is creepy, and Cloud's head at this point in the story (in both games) is a mess. Aerith: Promise? Cloud: Promise. Message: NO PROMISES await at a journey's end.
The scary music could also just be Cloud being controlled, and the Aerith hallucination doesn't have to be Jenova. So Cloud gives the Black Materia to Sephiroth in the Northern Crater in the original. He was being controlled there too. That Aerith could just be her ghost from the life stream and that' why Red XIII sensed her. But see you in a few years guys.
In the ultimania the devs said they wanted this game to be called Reunion but couldn't because they already used that for Crisis Core. So it won't be called Reunion
@ComboBreakerMLP Don't pretend being dumb. Are we talking about og FFVII ? No. Zack and Biggs being alive at the end of Remake means new timeline, hence Aerith' fate is supposed to be unknown.
Thanks for spoiling. **** man, why the heck would this suddenly show up out of no where. Literally asked for best build for Aerith in battles and this happens.
I don't get why content creators gotta post spoilers all up in the video title and in the thumbnail... Like come one man. That's deliberate. Glad I finished the game before I saw this cause I'd be really pissed.
Dirge of Cerberus teaches us, that the planet will return to the cosmos eventually. So for me, Reunion means everything returns to teh beginning and this means Supernova.
Sephiroth's trump card after Meteor fails his Supernova destroy's gaia, and all the pure lifestream return to the cosmos via Omega! Paradise as Barret calls it. And the dark ending still occurs to end the ffvii franchise, while Sephiroth uses the planet as his vessel that contains the corrupted lifestream.
My high expectations for you had dropped for this spoiler thumbnail, as we didn't know if it was going to happen in Rebirth or in third trilogy. Thanks for ruining it .
