@@AnthonysRCWorld I took apart my rear shocks last night. Found silicone tubing limiters on the inside. Cut those in half to allow weight transfer. Changed the shock oil to 60 weight. Took off the preload clips it came with. Went out and made a 2.69 pass @ 50 mph. Every pass is now sub 3's. Really happy I ran into your videos on the losi. Thanks again for the help.

Does anybody have motor fogging issue with there 22s mine just started once I changed my pinion to 20 tooth? Anbody know why?
@AnthonysRCWorld
@AnthonysRCWorld 8 месяцев назад
Hey there, I'm really sorry to hear that your Losi 22S RC car is having a problem with motor fogging after you changed the pinion gear to a 20-tooth one. It can be super annoying when unexpected issues pop up during our RC adventures. As for my setup, I use the default Spur Gear (the big gear) with 84 teeth and the Pinion Gear (the small gear) with 16 teeth in my Losi 22S. While it might not directly solve your problem, I can tell you that this setup has worked well for me in terms of performance and reliability. Now, about the motor fogging issue, it can happen for a few reasons, and it's important to figure out what's going on. Here are some things you can check: 1. Gear Alignment: Make sure the pinion gear and spur gear are properly aligned. If they're not, it can cause extra friction and heat in the motor. 2. Motor Temperature: Keep an eye on how hot your motor gets while you're using it. If it gets too hot, it can create moisture inside the motor, leading to fogging. Make sure it stays cool and doesn't overheat. 3. Airflow: Make sure there's enough air moving around your motor and electronics. Good airflow helps to keep things cool and prevents moisture from building up. 4. Connections: Check all your electrical connections, like the wires and connectors on your motor, to make sure they're secure and not exposed to moisture. 5. Environment: Think about the weather when you're driving your RC car. If it's really humid or the temperature changes a lot, that can contribute to the fogging issue. "I'm hopeful that other people who have a Losi 22S might have some advice if they've had a similar problem." And definitely, get in touch with Losi's customer support. They might have run into this issue before and can give you some specific tips for your situation. Keep the RC racing spirit alive and keep pushing your Losi 22S to its limits. With some patience and determination, you'll figure this out and have plenty of successful runs ahead.

@@ThaLs1thatcould Hi there, I primarily operate the Losi 22S on 2-cell batteries (which have a maximum voltage of 8.44V for a single pack). So, I might not be the best person to guide you on the settings or programming needed to run the car on a 3-cell (3S) battery. However, if you're aiming to use a 3S battery (with a higher voltage of 11.1V), here's a general approach to consider: Start with Mild Punch: Begin with a mild punch setting. This ensures that you can effectively transfer all of the car's power to the ground during take-off without causing the tires to spin excessively. Progressive Power Increase: Gradually increase the power as you go. This prevents the car from overpowering the tires during the run on the 132' drag strip. Launch Control: If your radio, such as the Spektrum DX5 Pro, has a point system or launch control feature, you might want to explore using it. Launch control can help you manage the power delivery more precisely during the critical launch phase. I'm not personally familiar with the DX3 transmitter and the Spektrum App, so I can't provide specific instructions for those tools. I apologize if I can't offer more direct assistance on this particular request. However, I encourage you to explore the features of your DX3 transmitter and the Spektrum App thoroughly, as they may have specific settings or options for optimizing performance on a 3S battery. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please feel free to ask. Best of luck with your RC adventures!

@@papote385 Thank you for asking. I happen to have a Spektrum DX5 Pro running on RaceWare version 2.03.01. Currently, I'm in the process of programming the radio for the Losi 5.0 Bullet Chassis, paired with the R1 Wurks 040007 - Digital-3 Mod ESC 2S setup. I'm working on creating a detailed video tutorial to showcase how I'll configure the radio specifically for Drag Racing. My aim is to have this video ready before the end of the week. It will cover all the steps and settings to optimize your DX5 Pro for drag racing performance. If you have any questions or need further assistance in the meantime, please don't hesitate to reach out. I'm here to help, and I look forward to sharing this valuable information with you.

@AnthonysRCWorld Год назад
Hello Charles. I would like to provide you with additional information regarding the electronics installed in my car, which I inadvertently omitted in my previous communication. There is a GYRO unit present on top of the Steering Servo; however, I would like to clarify that it is currently not connected. Initially, I utilized the GYRO during the car's initial runs after its purchase. However, for the upcoming video, I am planning to remove it as part of my modifications aimed at reducing the overall weight of the vehicle. This adjustment is intended to assess whether a better elapsed time (ET) can be achieved. To provide you with a more detailed description, the GYRO in question is an AGFRC RC Gyros - Easy Gain Aluminium Cooling Min Gyroscope for RC Car Truck (GY01-CNC). Please feel free to let me know if you require any further information or have any additional inquiries.

So, what did you do to the car?
@AnthonysRCWorld
@AnthonysRCWorld Год назад
Thank you for your inquiry. I'm thrilled to share the modifications that have transformed the Losi 22S RC Drag Car into a powerhouse on the 132-foot drag strip: Upgraded Shocks: I replaced the stock shocks with high-performance ones and meticulously tuned them to match the car's weight. This optimization ensures optimal movement and stability during high-speed runs, providing a smoother and more controlled experience on the 132' drag strip. Fine-Tuned Toe and Camber Settings: To suit my personal driving style, I carefully adjusted the car's toe and camber settings. This fine-tuning resulted in improved handling, better cornering, and overall superior performance on the 132' drag strip. Weight Distribution: I focused on achieving a well-balanced weight profile by strategically reducing some weight from specific areas and redistributing it to the front of the car. This balance further enhances traction and control, giving the Losi 22S RC Drag Car an edge on the 132' drag strip. Tire Preparation: By carefully preparing and conditioning the tires, I achieved maximum traction without the need for any adhesive additives on the tires or the track. Cleaning the tires with Simple Green and performing a precise burnout significantly improved grip, translating into exceptional acceleration and speed during races. Willy Bar Adjustment: I made crucial adjustments to the willy bar to allow for effective weight transfer during take-off. This enhancement not only helps the car launch smoothly but also ensures it runs straight while on the willy bar and after coming off, contributing to consistent and predictable runs on the 132' drag strip. As a result of these modifications, the Losi 22S RC Drag Car has consistently achieved impressive 2.6-second runs on the 132-foot strip, using its factory ESC and motor. These enhancements have transformed the car into a formidable force on the 132' drag strip. In light of the positive impact these changes have had, I've decided to document my entire journey with the Losi 22S RC Drag Car. I'm currently working on a comprehensive video that will showcase the car's evolution from its factory state to the impressive performer it is today. Stay tuned for this thrilling presentation, where I'll take you through each step I took to fine-tune the car for maximum straight-line speed and unwavering consistency. Thank you once again for your question, and I'm excited to share my passion for the Losi 22S RC Drag Car with you and the rest of the community. Together, let's continue to push the boundaries of RC drag racing.
