The greatest scenes in the film! (Well, In My Opinion). Enjoy The 80's Nostalgia! I DO NOT OWN THE CLIPS OR SONGS SHOWN. ALL COPYRIGHTS GO TO UNIVERSAL AND AC/DC.
I mean a bunch of sentient angry trucks are better at wrecking a city than a doll. They are also closer to reality. I mean we have self driving vehicles and trucks, but nothing close to demonic murder dolls.
Scary as hell to 80s kids. I remember kids at school talking about Maximun Overdrive. That sparked my curiosity. Later that night l heard my parents watching a LOUD movie. I got out of bed and asked "mom what movie is that?" She Maximum Overdrive" 😅
I always thought it'd be a very interesting scenario if all the machines came to life in the Transformers universe. Just seeing the Autobots tear through the earth's biggest and baddest machines.
me! I was terrified of being even near a truck afterwards as a kid. it was pretty scary for me lmao. had to research up the name for this movie( today at this time) for some nostalgia. typed in "Truck moves by itself and kills people which led me here.
When I was 4 years old, I snuck out of bed and went in my dad's room. He was watching this movie on a DVD, and I saw a lot that scared me. Especially the trucks Green Goblin face. My father eventually noticed me and put me back to bed. The face of the Goblin and the sounds the trucks made terrified me. Now, 14 years later, I wanna watch the whole thing!
I loved this movie same for me that. That green goblin face was terrifying as shit. But then I thought about it and it also reminded me of roger from the cartoon show Doug. Hahah
Another thing, just imagine how much fun they had filming this. The majority of the movie is filmed at the truck stop then they completely demolished the entire set! Crashing semis through the building, tearing down the awning over the pumps, then blowing everything to shreds!!!
Imagine a video game with this premise. You have to get across a city or a county and every vehicle has a mind of it own. Theres one main vehicle with similar A.I. as the alien from aliens isolation or mr. X from RE2. You can hide but every single building is destructible but with different levels of sturdiness. Imagine having to sneak through a small town or a cornfield at night and theres a peterbilt or a combine harvester looking for your ass
@@sonofabiscuiteatingbulldog they actually had drivers sit low and far back into the cab of the truck and had spotters to help with their visibility, these trucks had human drivers and we not remote controlled
This movie is one of the most badass movies of all time. 1980s, AC/DC, murderous semi trucks, AC/DC, Emilio Estevez, AC/DC!!!!!!! The part where the trucks are civil and Billy goes out there to fill them up made Emilio the ultimate badass in my eyes.
There's a lot of trucks that are missing but not confirmed to have "died", to name a few: A Walsh Mack Ultraliner, a Generic Mack B-77, the other GMC Brigadier, a White 4000, and plenty of other background trucks. You can see exits at the back of Dixie Boy, so I'm guessing they probably left there if they did escape.
It's currently 12:30 a.m. by the time I'm writing this but this is probably the most nostalgic I'll ever feel about a movie I remember watching this when I was a kid cuz my parents loved horror movies and I was young and when I saw this I was so scared but this movie I've watched so many times. Now as a teenager after watching this movie probably a dozen times is super nostalgic to me now.
@Gappie Al Kebabi well I already know the movie was a crap show as I got older. It just comes to show that Stephen King is better off writing novels then writing movies.
Same! Kinda the quirky right mix of action, horror, and even a little comedy thrown in there for good measure. And...some of the best explosions I've ever seen in a movie 3:56!
Than if that’s the case probably best to leave this movie alone because you know it’s already ruined just thinking about it. We already won’t have Lisa Simpson asking if Craig is dead…
They have to keep moving or else the humans will escape and they need the humans alive they can’t pump their own fuel they don’t have hands. Hence why they didn’t destroy the truck stop immediately.
Loved this, I watched this 3-4 times just for the classic diesel engine sound. In my motor-pool we have a few older Detroit Diesel trucks and I love to rev those old 8v’s. Sometimes I take off the cab engine access cover just to hear the blower sing extra loud. Haven’t been able to get the old rusted exhaust off to hear a “straight pipe” yet though...
Watched this movie since i was 3 years old and i wasnt scared of it at the time because all id do is listen the screaming on the detriots and cats under the hoods of those beasts. Lol my love of trucks hasnt left me yet, started trucking a year ago
1:38 still more trucks trying to fit in the circle thinking how close they follow each other thinking too many of them but shortened up a bit after 2 trucks charged toward the building a few minutes later in the film. Zekes Trash and Garbage Removal and then Mayfresh Toliet Paper
I remember watching this movie as a kid. I cant believe my parents let me watch it. Its still laughable though. For some reason I thought that the only thing the trucks wanted was Gas and they left the people alone after that. Boy was I wrong.
3:37 hm... it's green and blows itself up in an attempt to kill it's targets... the damn thing's a Creeper truck. And looking back on this, I'm starting to wonder if all those other trucks were already alive. Or did the Goblin truck, in a way, bring them to life to serve as his army?
@@worksmagic89 yes I'm asking serious questions. I want to know about the rules of how the comit or whatever it was works. Because the movie didn't explain all that much.
@@Draconicus702 oh I see what you saying but from what I understood im guessing the radiation/gamma rays from the comet had some type of effect on the electronics. When you think about super heros most of the time whatever it is that cause the person to get powers always seem to come from out of space. Also the radiation would kind of act as the source of power for the super heroes. That would be my guess.
This movie is actually horrifying tho Imagine as a kid parking into a 24/7 and hearing the truck engines rev as the truck driver is doing loads into the back of the store that sound is scary yet alone them driving and trying to kill you The goal of this movie wasnt to scare you as in being scary the premise is to make it sound scary So that being said maximum overdrive is one of my favourite stephen king movies of all time including Cell- The mist- Pet cemetery- And shawshank redemption
Just realized how easy it is to tell that the trucks are remote controlled scale models just by the way the start and stop...Ok,so I was wrong..All the semi trucks were driven by actual Stunt drivers hidden inside..
