@howlingmongoose Not entirely, Hardcore started in the mid 80s and throughout the 90s. The style is mainly extremely fast and with a screaming singer, compared to Oi! it is much more aggressive. Even though both originated around the same time-ish. Hardcore was not the norm for Punk Rockers. Hardcore kids didn't wear a lot of the leather and spikes and dyed hair like the Punk Rockers.
