I thought we had run with 3s batteries on the review video. We had not. So I have NO idea whether it can handle 3s anyway and if not.... well....... The 124017 can.
So sorry about the shaking video. My main camera broke so we had to use my mobile phone and I did not know the app I use did not use my mobile phone's image stabilization. Sorry. 😖

Last 2 wltoys I've purchased would not accept 3s. Under further investigation, the cap pack on the esc is only 7.4vdc and not 11.1vdc. They promote fast vehicles then cut costs by selling us junk...

I did have issue with my brushed 144001 wires melting and arcing wires causing no throttle

There's a little yellow tag on the power leads to the ESC, it says 2s compatible only. The new 45a ESC they're using cuts off due to overvoltage with a 3s

Hello. It will accept 2s out of the box. But when I put a 3s battery in it, it did NOT work. So please be careful. 😞👍🏼

Mine came in it actually accepts 3s battery you probably heat soaked yours in 2s run in wouldn't work anymore on 3s.

3 other people confirmed that it did not work with 3s. It's typical wltoys. Different components for the same car. Glad it works with yours though. 👍😉

New subscriber. Hey I’ve been picking up a few of these wl toys cars…. They rip for the price!!!! Question…. Mine new out of box no cogging but when I run wide open and let off throttle as it’s coasting down it brakes on its own to complete stop…. Is that normal. Doesn’t do that on any other Rc’s

Hiya and thanks for the sub. Yes it's caused by the motor and or the pinion and spur gear. Or of course little grease in the differentials. On some rc cars that effect is much less like you have noticed. However some it does slow down quicker. Try these. Spin the front left and rear left wheels while holding the car in the air. Does the right wheels turn freely? They will have some resistance, but shouldn't stop quickly. If they do then you need grease. Get a board or find a hill or slope around 30 degrees. Does the car run down the hill without power? This could be either a tight motor which you can't do anything about or the pinion and spur gears are pushing too closely together. Try adjusting it so that they are not so close. Use a small price of a4 paper between them and hold the motor in position before tightening the bolts. Don't push the motor hard into the gear, just rest it against. When tightened then put out the paper. It should look corrugated. Hope it helps and you find a solution. Good luck and thanks again.

hi. nice to meet you 124017 or 124007 Are new products shipped with shock oil filled? Or is there nothing in it? The shock nut is too tight and too hard to loosen.

Hello. Nice to meet you too. For sure it's the 124017. They have oil in their shocks from the factory. And most new WLTOYS have the wheen nuts at the right tightness. 😊

Hi John, if you check your video from 3 weeks back, the damage to the reciever wires was present when you checked the Diff's. I think when the car was jumping, those wires may have been arcing causing the throttle to stutter. Forest Gump should have used life is like a Wltoys 😀

Hi.John 124007 still can't use 3s battery? Is John's 124007 only disabled? Can't all 124007 use 3s batteries? I'm debating whether or not to buy a 3s battery for my 124007.

Hello. Nope 124007 cannot use 3s batteries. 3 people have confirmed they cannot. Only way is to buy a new brushless ESC that can handle 3s i am afraid. 🙄

You tried a 3s on a 45amp esc. Obviously it wont work. At best it would drive for ab couple of minutes and then completely kick the pucket.

You mentioned two things , you said 50c shouldnt be too much, it definitely doesnt matter. But you also mentioned you are trying to use an HV or HIGH VOLTAGE 11.4 volt 3s battery, that definitely wont work in these buggies as it is over a standard 3s 11.1V and the software in those ESCs is not happy to have the boost in voltage, if the voltage cap in the protection software doesnt limp mode the ESC fast enough it can burn out the ESC if it does catch it then it simply limp modes the ESC. To get rid of limp mode, power off the car, remove the HV liPo, turn on the car for 10seconds with NO LIPO then connect a 2s lipo and power on the car, it should work again. "C" rating wouldn't have anything to do with it. An RC car or plane or tank or bike can always take more "C" its when you dont have enough "C" when problems arise. "C" is simply a statement of how many amps a battery can deliver to the ESC, But its the motor that demands a certain amount of amps and the ESC that in turn asks for that from the battery. So when you choose a battery you must select one that can give as many amps as the motor, and in turn the ESC, asks for. To do this we need to multiply the LiPo's "C" rating by its "Ah" rating. So a 5000mAh LiPo has an "Ah" rating of "5Ah amp hours" if our sample LiPo has a 100C rating then we know it can deliver a whooping 500amps. But the car and motor and ESC will only use as much as they need! The battery will NOT supply more Amps than its asked for so its perfectly safe to use a higher "C" rated battery than you need.

Hiya. Somehow I've missed these comments. Must have been when I was unwell. To be clear. The car works fine on 2s. It will not run 3s. So I assumed I just had either blown the esc or have been unlucky. However I dug a little deeper and no youtuber or anyone else has posted or written about being able to run a 3s battery in this car. So make of that what you will. The fact that the car still runs 2s makes me think it was never meant to run 3s unlike its slightly cheaper sister, the 124017. This car is still a mystery to me.
