@@thingsmac it feels like hes just using them to zone out since clem is almost never gettin hit by those, but pushing bio back, his stalker micro after that to snipe the god damn viking is real art.

@@FlokiTech max pax was kinda shifting from colossus to disruptors and once he maxxed on vikings, he kept building disruptors. When he stopped making vikings that much he started building colosus. He really outmicro'd the fk out of terran player here. The DT harrass while non stop fighting was crazy. This has to be the best protoss player rn

@luissanchez3d Like I said, I watched basically all the ESL matches. The casters were amazing. The streams were 8 hours long. Sometimes I followed the chat when we were watching a big match, such as MaxPax's. I remember a lot of hate. People calling him AI or probably playing with cheating programmes, because you can't be this good. MaxPax invented the one gate expand among other things. Now I see a lot of one gate expand attempts in the plat - diamond league. I think he's an anxious person and find hard to compete as his best level with all the attention. I do agree that playing offline tournaments puts even more pressure on you. So we can't say who is capable of what unless he performs in offline tournaments, but why hate him for not showing up in these events? It's his life. Why not just enjoy this absolutely outstanding performance?

​@@mihairo83 Good commentary. As long as Blizzard has done their due diligence to affirm he's an actual person that's cool. Also, he could be a Blizzard employee. It might not be nerves. And finally, it's still not out of the realm of possibility for him to be using some unfair advantage, because if SC is this important to you, lol, then apparently it's not that important to you...? Suspicious. Maybe he is just a shy, emotionally weak person (which is kind of contrary to the character that sucess in Starcraft necessitates- emotional strength I mean) so maybe he's a noble or dignitary. Yes, it's his life, and I assume his matches are dualy scrrutinized at this level, because it would be a huge ball-drop for Blizzard to miss that for so long.

I think there was a waaay back a game between two alphastars to show thair training, but i might be wrong. It was pvp i think tho.

@chloesmith4065 he had a raven dropping auto turrets to harass the worker line while having no missle turrets and low on scan energy, being overwhelmed by dts. Also he kept raven alive that whole game, and i don't know if it helped kill a single dt lol

@@hivetech4903 Yeah. He built widow mines, burrowed them, and with that amazing high-skill high-iq move, won several championships off of that. It's not that he's bad, obviously not, but Byun or Maru could play Protoss or Zerg just as successfully. Clem couldn't survive without Terran's abusable mechanics* *Not complaining about game balance here, it's quite good. It's specifically widow mines being broken, as well as ghost snipe + emp invalidating every spellcaster, making it impossible to retreat without taking heavy losses. This again isn't imbalanced, but it's all Clem does. Byun has incredible micro, GuMiho has creative builds & strategies, but Clem just relies on widow mines & ghosts. Embarassing

If it was a brood war unit, it would restore protoss shields but reduce them to 1hp lol

And that's why metal-league players don't make balance suggestions.

@@hivetech4903 Oh yes, because this suggestion is oh so serious. A lot of videos of BW vs SC2 races.. It's almost like you can have fun without always considering perfect balance.

I think in part it is due to the fact that toss only gets half the value getting the armor due to the shields being separate. Additionally I think players like maxpax can reply on their micro to reliably get their units out of the way before they die, like with blink or prism micro - meaning the attack up allows them to do more damage.

@Nuggetheadification ahh I wasn't thinking about blink or prism micro. I did a few runs in thr unit tester and they did better with armour upgrades than attack but that's with no micro

The reason why you want weapon upgrades more than armor upgrades (in general) is that the damage your units do is going to be a factor almost always, whereas the damage they take is less often a factor; and with protoss especially, armor upgrades are separate from shields which comprise half or 1/3 of protoss units' health. Think about blink stalkers for example: their mobility allows them to dart in and out and shoot things without getting hurt. When your units are destroying buildings or sniping off enemy units, damage is more important than toughness.

Yeah EMP is a bit OP still if you ask me, it's all the little things that add up: You don't have to research it. It's pretty much instant cast with a good range/radius and it does its damage instantly. It's spammable if you have a few ghosts. It reveals cloaked units. It wipes out caster energy AND shields for protoss instantly. There is no way to move out of it or counteract it.

because it doesn't actually kill anything by itself. compared to storm, say... emp HAS been talked about, and it has been nerfed multiple times. first it needed an upgrade for more radius, then the upgrade was removed and max radius was reduced from 2 to 1.5; it's still incredibly powerful but I blame the ghost for just being too overtuned in general with 100 health, no light tag, a strong auto attack (compared to no attack or trash auto attacks on other spellcasters like high Templar or infestors or vipers) - snipe was also recently nerfed so it does less vs non-psionic units, trying to make the ghost more of an anti-spellcaster than anti-everything. Anyways yeah ghosts are strong but that's why maxpax goes disruptor instead of HT most of the time because EMP doesnt stop disruptor shots the way it drains HT energy. Though I've seen people oneshot ghosts with feedback from HT too, especially since rapid-fire exists now.

😂Clem is literally ranked higher than any Korean player right now. MaxPax ranked higher than all of them except Maru whom he's only one behind.

You say like ladder experience is the same as competetive games lol. Last world championship Maru was the only terrran that gave Serral a hard time, even if he lost in the end. Serral ate Clem like a ladder game. Not even mentioning the fact that europe's best players are zergs and Clem's best matchup is vZ... The only non zerg, european pro that is good enough to compete with him is Maxpax. Now look at Korea. Gumiho, Dark, Solar, Maru, Hero, Cure, Byoun, Creator with Rouge, Stats or TY working to come back. Then you have players like Olivera or Nighmare, that on good day can win with all the above.

GSL for a non-korean, best case scenario: take a 12 hour flight to Seoul ($500) middle april. Book a cheap hotel for a month ($600-$1,000), play the qualifiers. 15 days later, for some reason, play the groups 1 and get qualified. Book another month ($600-$1,000) because due to reasons groups 2 is middle june. Play and win groups 2, book another week ($200). Play and win the playoffs, collect a whooping $3,600 price. Read the RU-vid comments saying it was luck. Take a flight back ($500) and enjoy the earnings of maybe $400 pre-tax, but probably a net loss, after three months living abroad alone in a cheap hotel barely speaking with anyone. God forbid that you reach and lose the final, because that means a net loss of $1,600.

@@wuschu5563 you're basing your argument of Maru and Clem's ability on a single series against the best player in the world. Where, notably, neither player took a game off Serral, but you think one player did better because a single game looked close for a little bit. Notably: If you do wanna go by how they play vs Serral as the metric, Clem has a 40% game winrate vs him, 32% match winrate. Maru is at 32% game winrate and 25% match winrate. You can look up these statistics on the Liquipedia head to head. You can also look at the global rankings, where Clem is second overall in points globally. Any way you want to look at it, your argument sucks, Clem is a great player and has earned his rank. He can compete with the Koreans, and is capable of winning tournaments with them involved. Like Masters Winter.

I think that's supposed to be a reference to anger. (Unless you're talking about how frustrating it is watching 2 people repeatedly drop each others lines and never make static defence, lose workers, and just keep being agressive to the other, or Clem not SCV repairing damaged medivacs when they're the backbone of his army- that stuff might make a person's blood boil but it's so much easier said than done)
