Came across this video while looking for inspiration for a 'truck bag' of my own -- for times when I ride with OTHER people and not in my own more 'prepared' vehicle. I plan on using something like a Veto Pro Pack CP4 or MB. [Apologize in advance if I seem too critical, but just trying to figure out the purpose of this kit....and make some constructive suggestions.] It seems more like a 'catch all' for random multi-tools and gadgets and not a purpose-built load-out....unless this video was more of a 'what hits/what fits' for the Maxpedition. If so, I apologize. I think you would be better off having separate, small, dedicated First Aid Kit, Tool Kit, and organizer for your phone accessories/markers/pads/other utensils in your console. And -- rather than having 7 or 8 'not an actual screwdriver' screw-driving gadgets -- why not just include a single, 10-in-1, ACTUAL screwdriver...? (basic or even ratcheting) They also make the micro screwdrivers in a multi-bit version that would take up less space than one of those (3) lumber crayons. I plan on doing the Icon [RXFT-35] bit/ratchet/driver set and maybe some sort of multi-driver or bit handle with a small selection of common socket sizes. Same criticism on all those different Leatherman tools - at that point why not just carry a couple good pairs of pliers..?? Some combination of: side-cutters or a KNIPEX CoBolt or a pair of Lineman's pliers or Needlenose pliers with integrated stripper and crimper like the KLEIN "All Purpose Pliers"...or, if WEIGHT is an issue - just a common pair of wire stripping pliers with the cutter and crimper built in...??? I find those to be much more useful than a Leatherman - but I have never like Leatherman pliers, I can only see carrying those on vacation or a day off when you absolutely aren't gonna have a small tool kit or tool pouch on or near you. Again, not being a dick, just currently geeking out on EDC kits and wanted to ask some questions and make some suggestions. When I get my little "Go Bag" tool kit i'll upload it on my channel and go through it....will gladly discuss it with you! (You can check out some of my toobag loadouts for HVAC too, I put a lot of thought into those - might be some good ideas for your own future EDC bags)

Kit needs some kind of small mirror....possibly a little telescoping inspection mirror. Comes in handy more than you would think.

I'll take "Things from the toy box" Alex... Example; stuck on the side of the road... Playing cards? Help yourself get out of that situation and stop playing cards. Mountain biking... You should be carrying repair tools on the bike not in your EDC in your truck. Camping... don't rely on that bag for anything. Hopefully you will bring gear and not depend on that bag. I think it is adorable you want to triage (lumber crayons) houses during a disaster and not save yourself. Is that something you'll be doing while trying to get home after the 9.7 Cascadia subduction zone earthquake strikes? You do know 99% of the roads will be impassable. A collapsable bike would be better. and it is always a good idea to have plenty of drawing paper in an emergency, to go with those crayons, one set for floor plans, one set for insurance information and yet another notebook... well, just because. The five C's of survival is a good staring point for any EDC or BOB. They are... Cutting: Fixed blade knives, multitools, axes, and saws all fall under this category. Combustion: Firemaking tools and tinder. Cover: Tarps, ponchos, and tents. Container: Metal bottles are preferred in this category. Cordage: Any type of heavy-duty or multi-purpose string. Those five C's are only a base. you can add whatever else you want to "carry" with you, but I would consider a water purification straw, some pain relievers (that tourniquet is a good idea), 1" gorilla tape (1001 uses) wrapped around that BIC, rain gear (poncho) collapsable metal cup, etc. Get rid of the trinkets and prepare.

While your comment is very blunt and honest, I appreciate the feed back and will work on improving this kit. This is more of a tool bag and not a disaster kit. I am making a separate "get home Survival bag" that will contain survival tools and the 5 C's of survival. I live in the city so this is a catch all EDC pouch, not a survival kit. This kit goes along with my job, my everyday life and has things I can use during trainings, driving around and adventuring but is not a save all bag. Again thanks for the feedback!

Hello! First time running across your channel! I enjoyed the video! I have some recommendations if you're open to some advice/soft criticism. The first thing that stood out to me was your many types of paper. Have you considered just a field notebook or even an off brand similar product? They also come in grid. Or just a single composite notebook? Just something to save some room on. The next was your key ring. Having 4 handcuff keys is arguably over kill, that said, having 4 hand cuff keys on the same key ring that you keep in your glove box bag won't be much help at all. Stick one on the ring, one on the inside of your pants, belt, etc. Something you wear on you. And maybe one in/around your shoes. This way you free up some room and you might actually have a hc key on you if you need it. (Don't get kidnapped lol). I would also replace the Leatherman juice with something more applicable to potential vehicle problems. The only things it's offering is a corkscrew. While I also usually have playing cards tucked away, I think they'd be better off not in this case. But that's a personal choice obviously. Some things to consider adding that will actually be useful for you in even none emergency situations. Flashlight (extra batteries) Tape (preferably gorilla, medical and electric). Neosporin Thermal blanket I personally would also always keep a pack of water in your car and some food. If you don't want to, stick a couple of cliff cars into this pack too. Just some friendly advice!

Thank you so much! I am absolutely welcome to improvements and recommendations! I will be working on improvements to add some survival kit items into this as well as tools and edc. This kit has multiple purposes and goes with me in a backpack and my truck so I want to make it a versatile pouch containing all use tools and survival gear. Thanks for the recommendations! And thank you for watching!
