After checking out some Mad Dog Knives i have to admit this whole line of Maxpedition knives does seem to extremely similar... the colors, the designs and even handle shape are almost exactly the same.

Esee, Swamp Rat, Busse, Bark River, Falkniven, Scrap Yard. Those are quality knives.Also check out Survive Knives, newer company but man are they nice blades

Someone screwed up on Amazon a few years back and had the MGEO for $11! Bought 10 of them, sold some, kept one, and friends got nice gifts... I replaced the loop with a tek lock and carry it weak side horizontal cross draw...

Those knives look like a cheap version MadDog knife.

If the quality is anywhere near that of their packs, bags, pouches and other gear, I'm sure they're top-notch.

Just checked out the site, they all look awesome. The only thing that can make it better (IMO) would be micarta handle scales.

What would a nylon company know about designing and selling knives ? Does the M on the blade stand for Mad Dog Knives, or Maxpedition ? I read Maxpedition lost over $100,000 when they quickly pulled this knife line. That speaks volumes....

Hello: Looks like a great knife, and at todays price people charge I don't think its too much. First thing I notice was the thickness of the blade, the coating was a nice touch. I wonder if that Ruger has a steel but plate. At 6:16 I thought poison oak. Have a Good One

Ik this is an old video but I have always loved the blade shape of these knives. However I just can't get past the handle if there were to be a gen two that would be awesome.

Maxpedition discontinued the line already. Those knives are a copy of mad dog knives without the owners permission.

Maxpedition is the same outdoorsy bag maker that now wants to get into the fixed blade knives. Keep in mind that Maxpedition also makes tactical diaper bags. D2 is ok but for outdoorsy use, I would prefer a CPM S30V.

I'm not too impressed by these for the price point I think you could get a better knife in general. The handles look cheap, reminds me of those cheap kitchen knife sets that people sell door to door.

Hey sootch00 I have an off topic question I have an M&P 15 PS and I am having an issue with the magazine catching in the mag well with the bolt forward if I slam it in it will lock in after a few times now with the bolt back it locks in every time is there a way to fix this? I don't know if the bullet button is the problem. Denver I live in California hopefully soon to be state of Jefferson. Well thank you for your time calipreper

Not really a fan of that handle material, but it looks like a good blade other than that.

Eh, at $100-$120.00 and Taiwan made - I'm not excited. Why not cryo treat some real steel instead of D2 then plate it ? There are glaring misses in this line, there are better choices out there. The 19% sootch discount makes these more attractive.

For my way of thinking, I like to see the full tang on a survival knife. An example would be an ESEE. Probably silly of me.

I love maxpedition products; but these knives are just horrible looking. For the price, I would expected g10 scales. It reminds me of a dollar store kitchen knife I've purchased back in my bachelor days.

If it wasn't for the bloopers at the end, we would have thought that you did not make any errors and got it right the first time.

They're nice. But at that price there are American alternatives. These are made in Taiwan. You can get a 7' D2 Kabar for under $100. Personally I like having a small axe for the woods. And a cheapo Mora on the belt.

Disappointing that it is Taiwan made though.

They are made to look like Mad Dogs, no question. BIG differences though. These are factory made in Taiwan. A Mad Dog handle is made from expensive aerospace glass epoxy, super durable, many benefits. These are cheap copies in many ways :(

Ha, ha ha, how pathetic. This guy obviously knows very little about knives. He misuses the word "concave" trying to describe "convex". He misuses the knife by whacking at wood rather than letting the knife do the work by chopping properly. The design is not "like" a Mad Dog knife, it is a direct ripoff of a Mad Dog knife, down to the hard chrome over the steel. And the hilarious part is this poor, cheap copy can't even cut through manila rope (check at 6:25). And has trouble with thin, rusty paint trays? Common, you trying to make the knife look bad or is this truth in advertising, despite your nonsensical words? Thanks for the laugh. What a shame they did this to a good steel like D2.

wait wait wait, hold on. a "concave sharpened" edge? so it's hollow ground. giving it a thin, sharp, and weak edge. do you mean convex edge? which is a working edge. the only blade i like to have a "concave edge" on is my straight razor, and that isnt going anywhere near metal or a piece of wood.
