It's not a weird decision by Arrma. Plastic chassis will flex and always return to their original shape, where as metal ones bend and stay bent. Would it of been better to use a plastic chassis brace with a plastic chassis? The metal chassis brace has a rubber bumper inline with it to help absorb shock, if and when the chassis does flex. I have the Outcasts 6S EXB which has a metal chassis, and I'm getting rid of it for the Outcast 4S which I now have.
Yeah, I’m just wondering if there may be a durability Imbalance with this setup, I’ve seen a lot of cracked chassis’s online, a aluminum chassis plate along with the chassis brace would protect both the top and bottom, especially on hard landings, it’s just a theory, thanks for watching 🤙
There is a slipper Eliminator that they sell on Ebay, but I'm afraid of what that might do to the drivetrain. Well Traxxas uses 20 million weight in the center diff of the Maxx, which is almost locked up completely with that no? But it does have just a little bit of give. Yeah I agree. The V2 Arrma stuff handles and stears way better than the Maxx. But the slipper on the 4s Arrmas sounds HORRIBLE to me at least 😂.
I'm convinced the pricing has to give the Outcast the edge. Traxxas should include more "upgrade" parts if they want to price a 4s 1/10 at more than the Arrma 6s lineup. My Maxx has been very durable although the ESC is a tad glitchy. Great review!
Yeah I totally agree 💯 I really like the Maxx but it is definitely overpriced and lacks a lot of upgrades out of the box! The Outcast is definitely a better deal! Thanks for watching 👍
Yeah I’m aware of the purpose that it serves and how it works I’m just wondering if maybe it might be causing a durability imbalance, kinda like when you add aluminum parts, like aluminum shock towers and steering blocks, but you don’t go all the way with it and some parts are left stock (plastic) you create weak points sometimes doing that, that other wise didn’t exist before, I’ve been fortunate enough to not break my chassis’s in half on hard landings but a lot of other people have not been so lucky
I have both and like the Maxx more. It has way better build quality. Also I struggle with the slipper clutch of the OC since the first moment. Very annoying.
I think that if the O4S had a better chassis and a center diff, it would win hands down. I just can't stand the sound of the slipper. Thanks for the video.
Had a Maxx and was never happy with the power and performance. Opted for a V2 Outcast and I like it better but it's not perfect. Still searching for that unicorn

To me, the Maxx is the best driving stock rc vechile on the market. No cogging, very smooth like a sensored motor and excellent power. 55 mph right out of the box with a 4s system is fast for ant scale and battery let alone a monster truck. This is faster than many 6s vechiles let alone 4s. Not to mention the best durability of any other vechile on the market including the Xmaxx.
The Maxx and the Outcast are both monster trucks so they are pretty similar, the Maxx and the Kraton are more different than you think, the Maxx is a monster truck and the Kraton is a truggy
