Episode 49 - Hey friends! I had a great weekend with my van build - did the install on my swivel seat, the Maxxair fan and started laying my subfloor! I even sold my old van in the middle of everything else!
I had trouble with the swivel seat for whatever reason, but after speaking with the manufacturer, I managed to get it installed. I also did my first Maxxair fan install in the van which was definitely nerve-racking, but ended up being a lot easier than I thought! I then had a buyer meet up with me that morning, gave me a deposit and came back and took my van that evening!
The next morning I had a big home depot haul and started creating and laying my subfloor! Great weekend of work and soon we will be doing the electrical and insulation!

In addition to all of this work on the van, Lucas is also filming all of this, then editing together these videos. That's some work.....

Well done on the start of your van Lucas!!! Drilling holes in your new van can cause some nervousness but you got this!!! Happy for you on the sale of the van!

Thanks Barbara! I was definitely nervous for the fan vent and then had to make sure I wasn’t going to drill into anything underneath when I did the floor but so far so good! Thanks for taking the time to check out my work and leave a comment! 🙏🏽

Can't wait to see your Wheel Estate finished. This is something I always wanted to do and thought maybe but my handicap won't let me as I have a briddle bone disease so I break my bones easy and often and sometimes I can go several years however I've had so many injuries that it's taken its toll on my body and I have to live with family but I truly enjoy your videos and ones like this. Stay Safe!

what a great feeling to really start to sink our teeth into the van! the floor is a bit more tedious than I expected, so we will pick that up in the next episode and start the sound deadening process! thank you ALL for taking the time to watch episode 49!

You are into it now. I know what it's like to say goodbye to your first van. Went through that a couple weeks ago. Good start on the floor. Looking forward to seeing your design. Take care.

Congrats on selling the old van! This series is so cool- i seriously feel like I'm watching a tv show. I also am still in awe of you just sending it and building this van on your own. The quality is already so good-that van is going to be mint!!

Have you looked into putting in radiant heat for the floor? That would be so cool for a van. Super efficient too.
@LucasCatania17
@LucasCatania17 4 года назад
I have not! That’s a super cool idea. I could definitely be wrong but I think that’s done by hot water right? Would be pretty difficult to keep that heated in the van but definitely something worth looking into! Thanks for watching and for the great idea! 🙏🏽

I have found your channel via the guy who made your last van. It's epic that you decided to make your own! It seems that you know what you are doing, do you have experience in construction from before? Btw, great b-rolls, filming all of this was really adding up to your time spent on the van I guess 😀 And your consistency with blogging is insane! You deserve more recognition just for the effort brah!
@LucasCatania17
@LucasCatania17 4 года назад
Thanks Rokas! Welcome to the channel! 🙏🏽 I honestly don’t have experience in construction. I have mechanical experience I guess from being involved in race cars and stuff so I am comfortable using tools etc, but I’ve just done a ton of research and have been consulting with some other people who are more inclined in the fundamentals of construction! And thanks dude! I was actually thinking about that this morning how over this whole van build, how much time will be spent just setting up the camera and stuff hahah but it’s well worth it! Honestly a lot of the time comes in the editing afterwards! And thanks for noticing the effort man! I upload twice a week - typically Tuesday’s and fridays! Thanks again for watching my work and taking the time to leave such an awesome comment. 🙏🏽

@@LucasCatania17 Hey man, this is exactly what I thought - that you did great research on how to do it and probs watched a ton of videos. Trust me I know lol Currently editing my trip in Bankok, takes me a couple of hours to put a 1 minute of B-rolls lol Although, I am an amateur in this. No probs man, you deserve encouragment and good words! I Especially relate and empathize knowing how much time you put in producing these vids. I assume you don't do much marketing to your channel? I also noticed that your titles seem to be too generic sometimes not getting the exposure they could if you just SEO'd them a lil bit. Just my two cents 🤜🤛
@LucasCatania17
@LucasCatania17 4 года назад
@@rokask4596 thank you man! i really appreciate you looking out and feels good to have someone who can empathize on the editing hahaha! and I really don't do any marketing to be honest. I really just hope that my content speaks for itself and it attracts people organically, but maybe I should look to incorporate some strategy into that!
@rokask4596
@rokask4596 4 года назад
@@LucasCatania17 that is great way of looking at it - content is king, that's for sure and again, yours is great. But these days algorithm is God 😀 And you gotta optimize a little, there's plenty of tuts online! Def have a look, it won't hurt for sure 🤜🤛

Brother, nice work! Also most of the time custom parts don’t fit good and you need to modified like you did. And I hope you have a plan to make that project more like a off-road camp van, that will be sick! I could help you built it if you need a hand. 😎🤙🏼

Wabasso heater or Espar Heater fits within that cavity of that swivel seat and then add a vent to that base. great for cold weather, you'll be glad you got it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Tt69-8HcCY8.html This video shows the install for an Espar install diesel S2 heater for a Sprinter van.
