good question i was wondering as well,,,had a led flushmount before not this model but they all work the same led,,,but got to the place it blinked lot then literally didnt light any more ,,,they do have a time period or longevity period they state of so many thousand of hours probably equal to 3 yrs im guessing ,,we ll the one i had didnt last that long at all ,purchased from lowes,,and nope lost reciept i think it worked perhaps almost a year,,lol long enough to lose the bod it came in and receipt so yep i got rid of it,,but do miss the brightness of led i went with the replaement of the fluoresence tube 2 count simple fixture kinda like a shop,,i was on market place facebook and see where a home owner has another flushmount led similar to what i had prior but the one they have is huge and the cost of that model i see list for retail some 240 bucks ,,lol yep and nope i would never pay that for one but they are renovting a home in a well established neighbor hood,,the model i had prior wasnt that big was a off brand from lowed ,,,brand new tops was about 25.00 but i like what theyre selling and gonna give the led lighting another chance,,most have settings of diffrent lighting a bluish tint or three others a cool setting and others..,, they were selling it with a couple others all for 30 bucks not bad only i only need that one,,,is the huge 32 inch i think by 18 or 23 inch oval shaped,,,waiting for them to be availible yep lol gonna give it nother go,,,,i am a small electrical appliance repair tech anything from flat screen modern smart tvs etc pc,s you name it,,,i understand that dealing with led,,,,one little led bulb can shut the entire light from illuminating,,,this is because they are on the same strip of either ribbon or wires,,,,repair the one thats bad and the entire thing works again as if nothing ever happened,saw on youtube yep shade tree lol or diy,,,a guy took a piece of aluminum foil removed the bad buld twisted the piece of aluminum into the hole where he removed the bad led bulb and the rest of the bulbs lit right back up,,,so essentually the aluminum formed a contact in that empty socket or ie saying the contact where the blown bulb was made contact again and everything worked dude took a piece of electrical wire and never replaced the one bad bulb of what perhaps 33 other led bulbs,,,,figuring its ok to least be without one smile ,,this reason would be why lots might not bother with led and opt instead of using modeled flush mount lights that use replaceable bulbs that are led instead of one wired led to a fixture which can shut the entire light down from operating instead the other led bulb goes out cool easy peasy jus buy another bulb take the light fixture apart and relace the bad bulb that is if its a single bulb issue and not the power sorce replace it yourself,,if i dont get this one then i might not even bother...
