I completely agree with your opening statement that Mia's performance is on par with Toni and Shelly (rip). Unfortunately, the story and style of this movie was not up to snuff with her capability. I do not think it is necessarily any one person's fault that this movie kind fell flat, but rather just a happenstance of multiple ideas from multiple people getting rolled into one big project. To me, it felt like the filmmakers just weren't able to reconcile their ideas fully and everyone kind of just agreed on what we ended up getting. It felt like 4 different movies.
This 20 minute deep dive into this highly anticipated but ultimately disappointing "horror" flick left me nodding in agreement throughout. I appreciate your meticulous breakdown of the films squandered potential....your review articulates all of my frustrations with this film while also exploring other angles I hadn't considered....you also offer thoughtful suggestions on certain plot lines that could have been improved!! Its clear as much thought that went into the creation in this review as the analysis itself resulting in content that's as entertaining as it is informative!
