Hi ladies, just found you and really enjoyed your Flosstube! I’m in Ontario Canada. I was stitching and counting while watching the beginning of your video, and I heard you say “Boudreau” I thought what? Boudreau? She said my name, and said it correctly! Ahh I was so pleased. It’s my married name. My husband’s family is from eastern Quebec, and Boudreau’s are all over Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Very Acadian name. I know a lot of Acadians were exiled to Louisiana. They became the Cajuns. Anyway, my Grammy was a big influence on my life too. She lived to 99, and sharp as a tack right to the end. She was born in Newfoundland. She was funny too. When she was in the hospital at the end, someone in the hall knocked over a pail. She said “ did you hear that? Someone kicked the bucket before I did” 18 20

Y’all’s family sounds so much like mine! My Grandmother made the best apricot fried pies of anyone! Her pies were flat too! I’ve tried making them like she did but to no avail. I don’t know which I like better here. The stitching or the reminiscing! My maternal grandmother also made me a sunbonnet sue quilt too out of scraps from my mother and mines dresses (mother died when I was 4) Thank y’all for the most enjoyable stitching afternoon ♥️

Number 1 would be fun to stitch. We used to always get together at my grandparents after they passed away we got together at our aunts and now that she passed away we don't get together anymore. Hearing you'll talk about your family get together brought back a lot of memories.

I’m pretty sure I’m your long lost cousin. You described my granny to a T, and I have her bonnet and sun bonnet Sue quilt to prove it. Only I’m from Kentucky, and my granny never left that state her entire 100 years of life. Those pioneer women were cut from a different cloth, so selfless and pure love, they loved nothing more than to be surrounded by kin. I miss them all.

Y’all, that story about your uncle getting mad about the pies reminded me of the time my daddy got absolutely furious at a family reunion over a banana pudding. My aunt had made it and he was looking forward to eating because she was known for the excellence of her ‘nanner pudding. (My mom is from Chicago; she never really took to making it.) I’m talking about that good kind that you make on the stove and whip your meringue and brown in the oven. Well, he didn’t know that she had ‘gone healthy’ and made it with low fat jello pudding and sugar free cool whip. He got a big ole serving of that and about spit out the first bite. He griped for two days about how that wasn’t ’no real banana pudding’. It’s been at least 20 years and I bet if you asked him about it he’s still mad. 😅

Such a great flosstube! I loved hearing your family stories and about the fried pies. My mawmaw Hankins made fried apple pies that were delicious, and my pawpaw William's dud the apple drying and he'd give some to mother. She'd cook them and we would put them over her biscuits 😋 Daddy's brother died in WW2, but we didn't lose anyone until the 80s when my grandparents began to pass. Mother's parents had 9 kids, tons of family so we always seemed to have a funeral. Then in 2015 we lost my sister...she was killed pumping gas in Fultondale, AL, was in the news...then daddy passed right after, then mother in 2019. Truly enjoy all the stitching and wonderful stories you share... #17,18,20 😊

i'm so glad you girls came back for another one .Hey it's Anita again and i'd like to think we are related somewhere down the line. I'll have to research that. Anyway i love to see the projects and really liked the old rugged cross piece. I remember being 4, 8, and 9 at my granpa's house in Georgiana,Alabama for the summers.I do not remember my granny because he hit her in the stomach when she was pregnant and the baby died inside of her killing her as well. I was born in his house with a little old midwife helping my momma. Such was the life back then in those little places. I hope to see you girls at the Garon Retreat in Alabama next year. Keep up the good work!

I have so enjoyed your videos! We have so much in common. My mom gave me my great grandmother’s dough bowl that is over 100 yrs old and it is my favorite thing ever! My grandmother quilted me a Sunbonnet Sue quilt for my 10th birthday. Everything was hand stitched and I didn’t want to mess it up so it still looks like it did when she gave it to me. The story about your grandmother and her flashlight! My great aunt Lillie always had a flashlight so she could see coming home from church on Wednesday nights-she lived 2 houses up from the church. She had a special kind she liked and we called it a Lillie light. 😂 I love to hear all of the family stories and see your stitching. Looking forward to more! ❤ 1, 17, 18, 19, 20

Oh the stories...reminds me of being at my Aunt andnuncles house in Ripley, Ms. My grandpa had 3 ponds that we would fish in and he had huge catfish in them. When there were 5 of us kids plus mama and daddy. When we visited we would make pallets all over the floor and nobody cared. Homemade biscuits and gravy, chicken or sausage for inside. Yummy!! Snack ziplock baggies work for floss too. Or sandwich baggies. Floss storage I use 3 drawer organizers (item MP592031) from Michales. Took 12x12 white scrapbook card stock and fan folded it into 2” slots and put my DMC in by range of numbers. Took a larger fan fold and file my fancy floss by color name in a separate one. I used to bobbinate but I don’t any more. About the flossaway bags, hobby lobby has their own which are only a couple dollars. I found that I can cut about 1/4” off the length of a 3 by 5 index card and it will slip in the bag. Then punch a hole in the same place as the bag, and put them on a ring, or store them in a photo box or shoebox.

Watching y’all is like spending time with family! I’m from Arkansas so you speak my language. About the grit…it’s cocoa powder and sugar with a Pat of butter. My momma made them all the time with cheap biscuits. Rolled them out and fried them in butter in a skillet. They were the best ever. When I make them, my hollow legged grandsons stand in the kitchen just waiting for them to hit the plate! I watch on my tv and forget to comment but I always watch and look forward to seeing y’all next time! ❤

lol, I love Johnny Briscoe's also, we have one less than a mile away. I lovvvveee their Garlic Knots, so very good. Their stromboli is very good as well. Congrats on over 1,000 subs. Some flosstubers I enjoy are: Welcome Stitchery, Two Needles Pulling Thread, The Bougie Stitchers, Justkeepstitching, and SnugHarborCrafts. 6, 7, 11, 12, 18, I really enjoyed your stories about family. Reminded me of my family, especially my g-mother, Mama Dot. I feel your pain about the fried pies, my Mama Dot made the best homemade Caramel Cake and no one has the recipe. Her frosting was fudge like and you could lift it off the cake. I also remember her rolling out homemade dumplings. My Mama Dot didn't pop our mouths, but she did make us go out and break off a switch and she would give us a good switching when we needed it. Enjoy your camping trip and I'm looking forward to your next video.
