I remember this coverage like it was yesterday. About a year after this event, I cut my cable, but to this day I will always miss watching Dr. Greg Forbes. Over the years I learned so much about tornadoes from him. Love your channel...I re-watch your videos many times.
Boom! Blessings my lad for uploading history. Tornado nerd says ME LIKEY LIKEY! AirCast, hat's off salute. This thing was a monster, will not be forgotten.
Finally making it through the DVD collection and have a few more events than I remembered. Going roughly in order of historic significance of the footage. Will post partial TWC coverage of Joplin and (low quality) KWTV coverage of Apr 14, 2012, soon - those are the last multi-hour tornado events (other than recent) not already on here AFAIK.
@@AirCastTV There are more events that I want you to do: April 24th 2010 March 2nd 2012 November 17th 2013 April 27th and 28th 2014 June 16th 2014 April 9th 2015 December 23rd 2015 March 3rd 2019 Memorial Day 2019
@@jamestaylor4480 Im pretty sure everything post 2013 besides memorial day and 3/3/19 are avaliable on YT already. Dont think 11/17/13, 3/2/12, and 4/24/10 are on YT though
Overshadowed by Joplin two days before, and the 2011 Super Outbreak less than a month before. That's why this has been called the "Forgotten EF5". 2011 was the biggest tornado year probably since 1953. Later this same evening, Joplin was under a tornado warning amidst the destruction from 2 days prior. A little over week later, New England would get hit on June 1. Dr. Forbes was a very busy man that spring.
