The one Oil Industry spokesman corrected Jim by saying "North American energy independence" - refering to the combined reserves of Canada, USA, and Mexico -Closer to the truth. Also, I believe just about everyone failed predicting the supply demand curve when the pandemic hit: both went contrary to initial projections. Yes, any businessman would lower production if he thought demand was falling. This happened in metals, plastics, ICs, lumber, etc. - I am feeling the effect right now, as several of my products cannot ship due to supply shortages. Everyone was taken by surprise when demand did not plummet. But the fact remains that Biden closed the pipeline which provided that one man a well paying job while allowing Russia to open their's. That's a liberal talking point and he is a Republican. So obviously he isn't going to talk about that, the same way Democrats don't want to talk about illegal immigrants who commit crime for example. If you don't think being 100% energy independent drives energy costs down then you must be a clown. I agree that Opec and price wars effect gasoline prices but those aren't the only criteria. You also contradicted yourself saying Opec is in control of the oil price but then also said it was caused by a price war. I remember seeing an interview Trump gave about 20 years ago and he was strongly against Opec. When it comes to energy policies I would much prefer to have him back in the White House. That may be the case in 2024 because Biden is being called Jimmy Carter 2.0 and after he left office there was 12 years of Republican Presidents.
