I’m sooooo looking forward to In Tongues. Can’t wait for it to arrive next week. Clear is just sooooo good. I loved the ambiguous ending. Loved the costume change and shock reaction to How It Works Out. Hehehe.

I thought Clear was so beautifully done. I do wish it could have been a little longer. The ending felt a bit rushed but overall it was such a beautiful book.

I also loved River East River West. I also loved Restless Dolly Maunder but I do think it's a long shot for the womens prize. Honestly, I'm surprised it made the shortlist and not Nightbloom or Ordinary Human Failings

You’re not the first person I’ve heard that from. Really liked Human Failings.

Just one unpopular opinion, but listening at 2.0 isn't reading, it's skimming. Why do booktubers always stress short books "to get through", like it's a chore? It's like so many booktubers treat reading like a competitive sport, prioritizing numbers. What happened to just reading for the love of books and the hobby?

For me 2.0 is my baseline. Anything under 1.75 would put me to sleep. But I’m a fast talker so..😂

I always speed up audiobooks. Audiobook narrators tend to read at a slower rate than natural speech and I find that hard to listen to. Often 2x speed is closer to my own reading speed. Also... so many books so little time! The faster I can get to them all the better! And thats coming from a love of reading, not competition
