@@jgagmgi ik but I forgot what was kassiin so I Google translated and it said bag. What it is in English if you say? Se meni kassiin. I forgot. Does it mean it went to the bag?
This guy deserves 1,000 subscribers, he took the effort to make this long video and play them at the right parts together. Also, to remember the same path is amazing. Thanks for sharing this, it is really interesting to see how Estonia changed since "Perestroika"
@@rolandtiiroja my grandfather still drives it daily. It has more than 500000 km, old 2.0 carburetor engine and LPG installed but it's so damn reliable and maintenance costs less than 150€ annually (he lives in Ukraine).
I also lived in Tallinn and was driving Lada back in 1994. I didn't remember any more that complete lack of road markings. But indeed, paint that what was used then was bad quality and weared off within a year or two, so they were mostly absent. In Soviet Union driving lanes were wider, I think standard was 3 meters. Now they are according to European standard, it is 2.5 or 2.6 meters. And in 1994 green street light blinked 4 times before yellow came up, now they blink 2 times (In Western Europe they don't blink at all).
If both are indeed filmed in May, then the 2019 video likely was filmed in late May, while the 1994 video was filmed in early May. So there just hasn't been as much time for all the greenery to grow that year.
All the Ladas are gone... I managed to visit Estonia during the Soviet occupation period once, then multiple times afterwards. The development has been phenomenal. Estonians have worked truly hard over the years to rebuild their country. Whenever I visit Tallinn, I feel envious of the fabulous old town. It's a real treasure.
This is really cool to see. We drove in via a similar route March 16th and have been locked down here ever since, amazing seeing the changes over time!
Very impressive. The first time I was in Tallinn was in 1993. I have been there several times per year since then and have seen the changes take place during these 16-17 years. Best background music as well. :)
Imagine that some trees are still growing at the same spots and some bus stations still exist lmao. But yeah 1994 , no funding for roads or road systems , I was born in 1993.
Estonian infrastructure looks great nowadays and let's hope we get Helsinki-Tallinna tunnel in this decade. I would love to visit out brother nation one day :) Cheers from Finland!
@@SergeyPRKL yep, you guys are doing good. Here in LV we are lacking behind, but when I take a look back at the 90s I think we have come a long way. Baltics stronk.

Damn how 30 years of freedom can make a difference. I feel pity for Estonia, they could be easily above Finland without all the Soviet occupation, but you guys are doing great nonetheless.
Before your Boogeyman the soviets arrived in the Baltics , they could only produce fish , fresh fish mind you , after the soviets , they had factories , electricity and we're made decent countries , use your brain, 1994 was after the fall of the block and the entire East had no money from 1990-2000 for anything.
@@tsetsoooo Your retard or what? Estonia had factories, electricity and great economy before soviet idiots arrived. 50 years occupation made Estonia same shithole as Russia.
@@tsetsoooo You dont know shit, Estonia was same development level as Finland before the sickness of soviet army. Only thing you soviets know is steal and lie!
@@hardy_ I highly doubt it, the Soviets turned my country from a wartorn kingdom into a modern country , for the times. That they themselves were too corrupt in the late 70s and 80s and everything went wrong is another problem.
Estonia doesn't have naturally sources, but it growing its economy years to years. That's really amazing, but probably it depends to government. Greetings from Georgia 🇬🇪
Rakkautta sai muutamalla kolikolla. Oli se hienoa.
Great progress. Interesting how edges of the road became less dusty because the grass was made adjacent to it. We can't hope for even this simple thing in Russia
the right recording, even for a usual soviet city it looks pretty amazing, my town didn't get pavement for people until like 2006 or something, it was all mud
it's because of oligarchs, without them Russia could have roads better than western Europe... thus they would be stronger... sorry, but thank god for corruption.

i hate how the video just skipped what would have been an extra 5 second and in that 5 seconds my home goes by, I would have loved to see my old home :(
Call me crazy, but I would had loved to visit Tallinn right after the fall of Soviet Union. It's almost a shame that I was born only in the early 90's, so I never got a chance to do that.
