Actually, a 2 handled cup is for consomme, bouillon or a clear soup. Cream soup bowls are broader, sit on a bread plate sized dish and are not 2 handled.

I know you love your ribbon cart but they gather dust. Will you cover with lacy tablecloth? Never seen star cutout on s&p's before. That's neat. Deco powder tin, yes you would cut out paper. I remember our talcum powder had paper. We cut or poked small holes in it , so you didn't waste alot. Frugality back in the day!

The tapestry is from the Kutch Region in western India , famous for embroidery. Every hamlet there specializes in its own style of embroidery. There are around ten different types. As many types as the tribes inhabiting these regions. It's a beautiful collectable find ❤
I was told the two handled cup was used in the sickroom. The nurse would hold one handle to pass to the patient and he would take it using the second handle.
I have a similar crystal salt and pepper set. The lids are a slightly different design than yours but one has stars also. I tried to google it but find nothing.
