That empty china hit in the chorus gives it such a cool little accent. It's not always easy to write catchy drums parts, but stuff like that always makes it happen. Killed it.
I love what you did with leaving the mistakes in, and then going even further pointing out where they were, demonstrating them and then having a bit of metric modulation fun at the end. The drumming community needs more of this radical honesty and transparency
the same here, I struggle on the first songs of my setlist sometimes because im still adapting. Im always loosing sticks in the beggining because im trying to not grip hard and choking the stick. Warming up on pad indeed helps. Also, those brighter cymbals blends more with your music, dry cymbals are nice but dont appear and cut as much. Great writing in this song.
This version sounds so fucking good between the Zil bois and the Walnut Birch Starclassics the bass drum literally hits much fatter/punchier than the albums. I know the levels etc are obviously different here but fuck bro it sounds so damn good!!! 🖤⚡️🖤
