I have Bengali roots but know nothing about the culture and in an attempt to discover my roots back in India, I stumbled upon this song.....I am so glad this song pulls other non Indian bengalis back to their base.....much love from Berlin and Istanbul!!

Not to sound rude at all,but just to let you know, there are Bangladeshi Muslim Bengalis and Indian Hindu Bengalis. Majority of the Bengali speaking people are from Bangladesh. Your comment makes it look like Bengali is a whole Indian thing, which obviously isn't. This song connects the whole Bengali community, doesn't matter Indian Bengalis or Bangladeshi Bengalis.I suggest you read Humayun Ahmed/ other Bangladeshi writers to connect at a deeper level,along side West Bengal ones. @@anasian8894 mayabono biharini is Tagore's, not Kazi nazrul Islam's Tagore is indian bengali but his work is also a part of Bangladeshi Bengali culture no doubt. Bangladeshi Bengalis were at one point Indian bengalis, so obviously our cultures are similar apart from regional differences. they are only talking about indian Bengalis as foreign Indian bengalis tend to lose connection with their culture, whereas Bangladeshi Bengalis don't as much. Probably because they had to fight for it more than Indian bengalis did.

I think this adaptation is OK to promote Tagore music to the younger generations! Mozart and Bach have also been played with modernized adaptations. Congratulations to the girls, they remind me of early day Beatles!

I hated growing up to becoming an adult.. Right now at the age of 22. But these masterpieces makes it worth growing up to having a much much better taste of music.
It is a beautiful fusion of rock and rabindrasangeet. I am an old fashioned Rabindrasangeet lover and would not have believed that the two could be mixed so well. Would look forward to listening to more such creations. Congratulations to the creators for their unique interpretation of a classical mode.

I love Somelata's voice and I love this version of this song including the music. Many purists have expressed offence over this rendering of the song, but I really don't see why. It is rhythmic and hypnotic at the same time. Beautiful.

গান টা যখন প্রথম প্রথম শুনতাম তখন অনেক টা ছোটো ছিলাম। এখন বয়স বেড়েছে সময় বদলেছে অনেক। তবে একটা জিনিস একি আছে সেটা হলো এই গান টা। কখনো না কখনো বারং বার ফিরে আসি শুনতে। আজ এই কমেন্ট টা রেখে গেলাম । কোনো এক সময় ফিরে আসবো আবার। এক গুচ্ছ স্মৃতি নিয়ে। সেদিন হয়তো মনে পড়বে আজকের দিন টার কথা। :)

Every member in the band looks awesome specially the Singer, the Guitarist and the Drummer. Very professional and stunning band. The voice of the background singer is awesome. I dint understood in the beginning but later got the meaning of the song, and those ladies on stage and background made the meaning alive. Fell in love with Tagore songs. Kudos!
