The chairman of the project is Alfred Brush Ford, great-grandson of Henry Ford.It is a temple of great significance to the Hindu sect of Gaudiya Vaishnavism following Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. This temple is the main tourist center of Mayapur and the world headquarters of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness.
