Mayaula Mayoni joined TPOK Jazz at the end of 1973 as a rhythm guitarist and composer. Prior to that he had been a professional footballer, he played professional football for a tanzanian club and as a left winger for the top Zairean club of the time (AS Vita). He played for the Vita side they reached the finals of the Africa Champions cup. He also played for the Zairean national team. He never was fully a member of TPOK Jazz however. He was more of a freelance composer who provided his songs to various bands. Besides Nabali Misere, his other compositions witg the TPOK jazz include Bondowe, Mitelengano?, Bondowe II and Momi. He won Zairean composer of the year honours three times. He was also a scholar, he studied data science to a Masters level in a Belgian university. After leaving TPOK Jazz in 1979, he continued with his prolific career for another two decades. His last album (Bikini) came in 2000. He passed away in Brussels in 2010.

I want to thanks brothers from Kenya especially Kenneth Nyongesa. I posted my request here looking for a song i was looking for since 2008. I did not know the namr of song and artist. Kenneth contacted me on my whatsapp number. I send an audio humming the tune and in less tgan 30 minutes he had found the song. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻. This is brotherhood. This is Africa. Let us be united like this brothers especially via music. I am convinced this is what the musicians themselves wanted even when some of them have passed on. The song was done by Les Wanyika and is called Simimi

2020 we're here! This Mayaula Mayoni was a music genius, remember he didn't sing in any of his songs, he only played guitar but write the songs for those with vocals. In this song he played rhythm guitar. He wrote great songs for various artists including lady Mpongo Love. He joined Franco's TPOK but he never was a full time member, he was just a freelancer who wrote a number of songs & presented then to vocalists. Prior to joining music, he was a footballer playing for then Kinshasa clubs & Congo national team

I heard this when I had just joined my secondary school in Jinja Uganda. I had friends like Bwire John Haondo, Wandera Bernard Luduba and Philip Ombuki. Bwire John would sing as if he was the composer as we walked the journey from Jinja SSS to Mpumudde Housing Estate. I know Bwire is alive but just wondering what happened to the other two! The music was refreshing.

This music was in full swing in 70s in Liberia West Africa. By that time we were just children under age. But I do remember the music sounds very well.

Mayaula Mayoni was not an ordinary person. He had the powess both in football and music. Started with the former as a deadly striker uniquely with the national team of Congo- Kinshasa and later as a music composer and guitarist. Bringing him out as a talented man, amongst others, is ' Ba Chagrins' song. What a Being!!!. Dr. Ogeto International
