Black Ops Cold War DOMINATED the polls, it's crazy to think that a pandemic COD game with co developers mid cycle is the fan favorite COD game of the past 5 years... lmao it's really nuts when you think about it lol I'm sure Zombies is playing a HUGE role in those poll numbers too. Cold War definitely has the closest feel (at least gameplay wise) to the old school CODs out of the past 5 to release. My biggest issue with the game was the streak system and SBMM during its main cycle year. Also lack of content but that was addressed after all the dlc.

Cold War was pretty terrible at launch, but once it’s life cycle was over it’s definitely the better of the four.

Modern Warfare 2019 basically ended one of the greatest cod players of all time - MarkofJ...he hated it with passion and just basically quit and had someone else take over his youtube page. He even had a dedicated post about how horrible 2019 cod was...then it just kept getting worse and worse.

You're fucking wild if you thought Cold War was a bad game. People were WILD then even saying it was a bad game. It was so fucking good and it played EXACTLY like how COD USED TO PLAY back in the old days. It was amazing. It blew my mind at the time when people said it was a bad game. blew my mind. the only problem with it was the scorestreak system. thats it.

I liked it especially the old black ops maps playlist. Raid, firing range, summit etc...

Cold war had the best zombies and fhe MP was less sweaty than the new Cods it felt like a normal cod game.

If they ever update CW and make the Air Patrol cost significantly more or make it so that you have to get a real scorestreak, then maybe I'd go back. That and the new scorestreak system really rubbed me the wrong way to the point where I was playing towards the end of the lifecycle in custom game bot lobbies and changed the settings to what I mentioned above. It made a huge difference gameplay wise. Also the bs scorestreak cooldown was stupid because you were basically restricted from looping rapidly with lower streaks. And then there was that wildcard that basically game you 6 perks. Clearly the best wildcard and everyone ran it with almost the same perks so everyone had tactical and lethal resistance, ghost and dead silence.

Remember for PS2 we only needed 1 or 2 memory cards just to save your game! Those memory cards also were minimum 8mb and max 128mb and I used to have SEVERAL PS2 games to play. And PS3 although it didnt have a memory card slot, to my knowledge at least, I could play any game on that console, without having to worry about its storage really.

their zombies was fire in cold war and the multiplayer was good it had no crazy cheaters. cheaters were mostly in zombies doing xp and camo lobbies

I loved cold war. And i barely played Zombies. Multiplayer was dope and it also had some great weapons. Not to mention it had the best "Prop Hunt".

The game's campaign was short but actually satisfying Even the part where they see soviet troops simulate an invasion Maybe just the old days talking but I miss the cold war, both game and times

I thought the combined arms mp in cold war was pretty fun in the beta. Some things were changed that wrecked it but I still liked it. i do also think the operator packs were the best by far in this game. I loved playing running over people with the motorcycle. modern warfare 2019 had mp, warzone and while it didn't have zombies it did have a mediocre survial mode. To me a mediocre survival mode is way better than a good most other modes.

They probably thought "Black Ops Bare Bones" was Black Ops 1. Because it also had a bare bones mode within it. You should've just used the actual names to avoid confusion.

The zombies was definitely the best part about CW, but even its Multiplayer was better than the others to me. Treyarch just understands how to make solid maps, killstreaks, and gunplay.

Thunder, the problem with cod isn’t cheating and it isn’t the gameplay. It’s the fact that everybody out there now plays 24 seven and could be classified as a sweat. It wasn’t like that before and even if they stop skill based matchmaking not much would really change.

I actually think if that if you made vanguard modern combat or like 2015 tech combat and if the zombies mode had been anything else, it would be the best one or close to coldwar in the past5 years. yeah the best.

Cold War was the last CoD in the past 5 year I played the most and I played Zombies like 1 or twice. Didn't really play play Vanguard or MW3 aside from the betas... I mean demos. I played MW2 for 2 hours and got a refund. Played a bit of 2019 but still not at much as Cold War

Cold War is definitely the best COD in the last 5 yrs. It's the only COD I'm thinking about getting for next Gen bc I refuse to go back to PS4 even tho I spent hundreds on skins. I'm waiting for Gulf War but will only play if there's no sbmm.

Honestly the best COD/ Warzone we ever had is the current one. What ruinned it? Cheaters and Outdated servers. Sound, Graphics, Modern Tactical graphics, arcady movements taps realism a bit of this current Warzone is way better than ever. Activision just need to update or add global servers to have stable connection so we could at least can head to head with this consistent cheating. Enjoying 1v1 shipment on my Xbox MnK input. Warzone is just unplayable here in Cambodia with all those cheaters around with 180 ping.

Just get rid of the fluff. COD4 worked because you either had to go stealth with a weaker gun, or be on the mini map with a gun that would drop people. That is balance.

Cold War was by far my favorite. Campaign was good but short, multiplayer was good, zombies great, and the overall vibe of the game was great. The only issue it had was SBMM and it was bare bones at launch. If it had looser SBMM a lot of people would look at the game differently. This how I rank them: 1. Cold War 2. MW19 3. MWII (trash) 4. MWIII (trash) 5. Vanguard (worse than trash)

Cold War multiplayer is the best in last 5 years. I have been playing COD since COD4. I still play Cold War today.

Blackops3 was the last fun COD for me, Blackops4 was one of the first you could actually feel the game work against you with aim resist, and bullet damage nerfing. I’ve played Every single COD from COD 3 for the full year it was out EXCEPT MW2 22 , that shit with the different 🏳️‍🌈 player cards in a military shooter and the Pedo weapon bundle finished that for me in February still got the mastery camo though . Tbf I like what sledgehammer is doing this year with the weekly challenges and camos , it’s worth the play time, although it’s the sweatiest game by far, try playing against a team of ( Ranked play iridescent/ WZ diamond ranked ) players , between Sweat / Rage / blood pressure it’s so off putting

I didn't know Cold War was "BareBones", or I would've voted for it. And I just do multi-player. For me its Bo4, then CW, some days its CW then Bo4, they both stay on my ps4.

Call of Duty takes of some much storage as a marketing move from Activision. If you want to play a quick shooter, its gonna cost you space and a lot of it. Oh, and since you cant afford room for any more games mught as well buy some content or skins while you're at it to make good use of all that space you wasted on a game that deliberately pre-determines the outcome of every single match. Realistically, they’ll never be another “fun COD” because we were all just kids running around trying to have fun. People barely knew about the competitive scene, and didn’t care about K/D as much. Now with every update comes a million “New Meta” vids and people want to use what the pros use. People camp to make their K/D look better. Personally idc, I just run around without a care in the world but not everyone does.

COLDSNORE I loved, The Doorless maps! It makes the flanks cook. Anyone could set up a flank and sweep a full team squad at anytime.

Nah fr BOCW is better than recent COD games. Its the worst BO game but still better than new CODs. I've been playing NukeTown 24/7 playlist occasionally and thats the only "COD" I'm playing. SBMM is low and gameplay is fast too.

Cold War was great. The only problem was how OP the Sniper Rifles were. Remember, that game did have the 10 v 10 mode mode if I remember correctly. Which set the groundwork for “combat pacing” in the next one. If they would ban the Sniper Rifles it would be the best COD of the last 7 years.

CW felt a bit more old school...a bit. It had issues to me like the lame streak system, the "advanced movement" (which may have been not quite as bad as some other newer games), and was it me...or did snipers never miss? But the core gameplay was decent, and I liked the overall vibe of a CW era game.

I have friends that still play Cold War zombies. Outbreak offered something fresh and lots of players loved it. I liked DMZ with zombies so playing MWZ.

Cold War was under appreciated. It was a good game. Not great but def a solid 7.5/10. Zombies and campaign were both great. MP had a bad start because of the lack of content and map variety but at the end the weapon and map variety was awesome. It did feel clunkier than MW19 tho and the scorestreak system was wack. If you poll any random audience filled with a mix of different COD players. MW19 & CW are always at the top

I find it crazy that mw³ now takes up 304gb on my Xbox series x.. that is truly friggin insane! With the season 2 reloaded update coming on Wednesday.. I can't even imagine what the size will be after that?! They are going to have to change the name of the series to "call of hard drive" because by the end of this games cycle I believe it will be the only game that will fit on my Xbox 🤦🏽🤣

I think MW19 is like the RE4 of the cod franchise. Best recent game in a series that changes everything for the better and for the worse. Difference is, Capcom figured out that making a good game is more important. COD decided that micro transactions should take precedence.

I think all these new games look the same because most of us hardly play anymore 😅

Idk how you can say BO4 was fun and say CW was boring when both of them have the same problem thanks to Zero. Only difference really is that you have more bullshit to deal with in BO4 because everyone gets multiple specialist abilities for free. The TDM spawns in BO4 for most of the maps were also awful in that spawns would never flip and they funneled everyone to one side of the map so all the fighting happened in one or two small sections ie: Morocco, Icebreaker, Frequency, Arsenal etc.

Cold War is the best, outside of cooldown streaks. I had a lot, of fun in that game. The flow was good, maps were hit and miss. But, Treyarch lowkey saved Cod. Till MW2 came and ruined it. Zombies was pretty fun, got mastery camo for the first time. I cant stand MW2 or 3. Treyarch save me 🙌🏾

My cousin and I play Gunfight on Cold War. It's the most fun I have with COD these days, unless I'm playing an older one.

BOCW is the best cod game in out of the otpions given. It's had great movement, gunplay, a lot of the steaks for slaps (for me anyway). The map design and gameplay allowed for every game style, camping, rushers, etc.. Plus the MP has only gotten better since sbmm is gone. Campaign was short but imo it was great and intriguing. Zombies was top notch (I could go on for ages about how great cw zombies is). And they produced all of this in a year during peak covid when they had to take over from Sledgehammer and Raven due then2 compaines fighting. Treyarch are simply the GOAT of making cod.

Best in recent years for me too. Revisit that and bo4 for mp. Haven't truly enjoyed multiplayer since cold war and bo4

This would have been the game to play IF they didn’t have the government assisted streaks, the participation trophy score streak system where everyone wins. You absolutely have to use air patrol as 1 of your streaks to counter the other team’s streaks

Black ops 4 and cold war was the last Best cod to me I still play Cold war to this day play it every day it's not zombies it's Nuketown 24/7 and they put a lot of old school maps on there after the life cycle couple of Black ops 3 maps on their hijack came back on there zombies was good to I don't like the new open world zombies all of the call of duty's Black ops is going to be looking the same if you can remember they shut down the old engine and rebuilt this new engine which makes the games run off modern warfare engines so they going to all look play a the same but play a little different modern warfare 3 kind of have a Black ops filling on how fast it is arcadis Black ops is more arcade modern warfare was more tactical and serious

The only game that has a file size that large is Call of Duty and it isn't by accident, they do it because the standard size hard drive is 500 GB and the majority of casuals don't have an expanded storage device, a lot of casual gamers also play sports game like madden or FIFA so that takes up the rest of the viable space on the HD. So they don't have room for a bunch of games on their hard drive anymore and play CoD because they don't have enough room for two shooters.

genuinely enjoyed black ops cold war gameplay is the closest to the classic arcadey cod engine reminds me alot of black ops 1, you have the same weaponry commando (xm4), ak 47, ak-74u, mp5, Lw3 (tundra), famas (ffar), m60, stoner, m16, aug, g11, mac 10 *just to name a few* the create a class customization was great, w a few tweaks it genuinely couldve been one of the best cods ever made taking out air patrol, changing it to the classic scorestreak system or even kill streak system like BO1 wouldve been alot better, the SBMM, and instead of all the bo2 map remasters more BO1 map remasters wouldve been great it wouldve fit right in w the weaponry and time period and wouldve made it even closer to BO1 and tugged on alot of og’s nostalgia. i think the nostalgia from all the weaponry and kill streaks definitely helped it out oh and if they added the dogs *chefs kiss* they shouldve saved all the BO2 map remasters for Black Ops Gulf War but tbh it was a hugely missed opportunity for treyarch to bring the og’s in the community and the noobs all together for a dare i say top 3 cod game of all time IF they made the neccesary changes but without them still a top 5 cod game IMO. give it a try the map selection is GREAT now lots of content. og ground war 12v12 streaks are nice if people arent running air patrol the way i counter it is i always run a attack helicopter strafe run and chopper gunner ill call in the attack helo as bait for them to call in there air patrol and take it out then i call in the strafe run hopefully no one else has an air patrol normally dont i also check the scores of the enemy team before i call it in and by the time i call in my chopper gunner theyve wasted all there cheese on the lower end streaks and i go absolutely HAMMM.

You just have poor understanding of how CW works and lack the ability to be dominant in it, you gotta go hard, air patrols ain't shit when you triple stack 3 dominant air streaks like strafe run, chopper gunner and gunship. You call one in at a time from lesser to best and dare them to blow that air patrol if they got 1, you gotta hammer them and that's part of the fun.

Recency bias is a helluva drug when it comes to COD. Cold War was and STILL IS a bad game which is only tolerable now because everyone's left for MW22/23, the weapon balancing was a complete joke and lack of base maps was comical. Zombies on Cold War was basic too with the lack of maps again and they pretty much abandoned it after the second map.

Cold War was definitely the best cod these last 5 years. As for 8th gen as a whole? I'd still say bo3 is better, but 8th gen was mostly filled with mid games. The only really good ones were bo3, cold war, and funny enough, mobile.
