Well, that was certainly exciting! I have over 50 years of experience in flying RC models, and can remember many decades ago flying a 3 meter sailplane so high I nearly lost sight of it. Back then, there was no RTH, no action cams (I had a little Kodak 110 film camera inside that I tripped the shutter with an extra servo). I'm very impressed with the Birds Eye View antennas, and they look like just what I need for my XK X380 UAV aerial photography bird. I need to see if I can get CW (RHCP) sent here to USA. Cheers! Awesome job nailing that landing! I outfitted a friend of mines Skywalker with an older FY-21 and AP117 that I used for a couple years prior and still never fails to hit the mark on return to home, especially when the video drops out for one reason or another. And flying in the path of ominous black clouds and watching the rain curtain coming closer is about as exciting as it gets when racing the plane to get back before it soaks the camera lens... Posted a great video of it.

Cool. As for the rain.. come on, the ground isn't even completely wet yet, just the occasional (large!) raindrop marks. You did right to end the flight though, as you never know how bad it can get.
You mentioned one time you might try a spin with your plane. This would have been a great time to try it, being so high you would have had a long time to recover. Thanks for the video.
+amtpdb1 Plane was on stabilization mode, so it does not allow plane to go into spin. Also My rubber bands on this plane are very old. Putting it into spin and recovering later might have taken the wing off LOL
Nice job! Really incredible footage. I'm sure you were extremely relieved when you finally saw your plane come back. You should have celebrated with a beer and a cigar for a job well done!
There are several aerosol products that can eliminate damage from rain. You will have to take the electronics apart to apply the product but it will save them if you get caught in the rain again. See if you can get Corrosion X, it works great, if not there are many others.

Ik heb kort geleden een drietal birds eye antennes over kunnen kopen ,2 cloverleafs en een dome, ik heb er een aardige kwaliteit video mee maar vroeg me af of er ook een perfecte frequentie is voor de antennes. Ik en mijn vlieggenoten zijn altijd op zoek naar nieuw en beter, ik ben benieuwd wat de toekomst brengt!! Ik houd jullie website in de gaten!
