My grandfather (who was my father) and I were watching this and laughing about how good the mayhem commercials are. He passed away almost two months ago. Miss him more everyday, but this commercial still brings a smile to my face!! Love you Paw Paw!!!
Larry's worth around $75 million - he didn't need to do this commercial, so I consider it a gift to his fans. We still and always will consider him the best *all around* NBA player...bar none.
That’s what’s great abt the ad‼️ Larry didn’t need to do it but he made it a funny one 😂👍. I thought there was a longer version but I haven’t found it. Allstate has a handful of funny ones. “Mayhem” character has done well with his many versions. I also like his driveway basketball playoff where his (real life) brother rips the hoop off the garage! Every time I see “Mayhem”, I think of his role on Law & Order SVU.
I just saw this at work... every time I see a new one I text Mom because we love these commercials. I'm SO glad his agent had him reconsider doing these... They're too damn funny
I love Larry Bird. Watched every game. Love to see him anytime. This is the first time I've seen the entire commercial and it is much better than the abbreviated version showing on my local TV stations.
I love to see that he's still willing to have a little fun but he's funnier on his own. See David Letterman show with Magic or HOF induction of Magic and his own acceptance speech. Yeah, some trash talk would have been awesome! "I'm gonna walk over, right there, and smash the sh*t out of you and there's nothing you can do about it!"
If you listen to the gazillion interviews out there he didn't swear to trash talk. As a matter of fact one of them, I forget who it was, specifically said he didn't have to talk like that; he just said what he was going to do & how he was going to do it & then did it. He was no saint, he just didn't have to resort to vulgarity.

@@MyJeffrey1970 I did the same thing, but I am sure I missed a lot of things. There are all the basketballs on the rack, like at the 3-point contests, and the awards, and I thought I saw a picture of his mom, and the fish, because he likes to fish. The CD rack is from the '80's, I guess. That's all I could identify.
Dean is the best but when I saw that it was the real Larry I was like omg it's actually him.. I had to watch it again! 🤣😹 I do like these. Especially the one with Dean's real bro.
Speak for yourself. These are consistently the most funny insurance ads around. Everything else is mediocre at best or just absolutely horrible at worst.
