I always wondered what Atilla was going to sound like when they would ask him to sing stuff they recorded with Maniac on vocals in late 90's - early 00's because I expected him to do same kind of "singing" he did for "De Mysteriis Dom Satanas", which is very different from Maniac's style. Dam it !!!! He does really good job.

Atilla kicks ass on De Mysteriis, Each singer is best at their own material... But yeah i do prefer Maniac, Seeing Varg in this band would be the biggest thing since David Carradine died
mayhem has never repeated itself since deathcrush till ordo ad chao, its an evolution, most of the blackdeath european scene its still under the influence of de mysteriis.., like 20 years later! maybe some by wolfs lair abyss, but still mayhem its at least 15 years ahead the most of the scene. cant wait for the next album, it will be above all, since atila is under control with morfeus ex limbonic art and the ex guitarrist from vorkreist, which in fact declined morbidangel for mayhem recently.
Attila does wear a very nice and unique satanic Mendes' goat symbol on his forehead. Fucking great if you ask me. I'm sick of (as often called) "estereotypical" BM characteristics. It was cool in '97 for me, but now, just overused to fuckin' death now. Maniac simply reigned when he was in the right mood (very deep self-mutilation, general vocal agony and total madness. I really loved him at these somewhat rare ocasions! A very strange and apropriate character for Mayhem.
Attila sucks He's got no black metal vocals it looks like he's singing Gregorian chants on a Christian church. Maniac's vocals much better. The only good song that Attila sang was De Mysteriis dom Sathanas
I know people will get mad because my comment anyway here I go. It will be rad that the band get Varg as guitarist. In my opinion the band will become more morbid.
Just a perfect substitute for Dead's weird ways - but, in general, Attila is a much better performer (he is great more OFTEN than when Maniac was, I'd say...)
sry, I didn't know, how did Maniac look like before her left Mayhem... He was there at Wacken after all, even it is guite shocking to me, because his voice there is not very good! Oo but don't call me "worthless piece of shit", it is not very adult, you know! (even if I didn't know something!) And also I didn't what kind voice Attila has, so I thought that hewas Attila... Sry about this misunderstanding!
In my opinion 1.Those vocalist do best at they own participated album. If Maniac return for mayhem and try to sing in "Ordo Ad Chao" he will perform not good as Attila. But for all live performance i seen, Attila just can't do better than Maniac in many songs such as "Fall of Seraph", My Death ..and many songs from Maniac era. 2. I think Maniac is as good as Attila, I like both. 3.Dead is the Worst . he died to soon to be mature vocalist. 4.I like present day Mayhem than in Euronymous's time.
embarrassing? no... i like what he does. the wierd costumes and stuff. you got to have balls to come on stage with that stuff he makes a gig into artistic performance! well the costumes are what really don't matter, it's the voice and he is a friggin shaman! i think that really embarrassing is maniac's vocals in Wacken 2004..
Attila is a better vocalist than Maniac. At least Attila has a deeper sounding voice, closer to Dead's. Personally, I think they should have stopped after Euronymous died. The one decent vocalist killed himself and the guitarist with the originality gets murdered. I liked the beginning of this though, those screams sounded real.
Read carefully LiberAzerate . I mean that there best at their own albums.. So if Maniac try to sing "Ordo Ad Chao" it result would not good. But for album like Wolf's Lair Abyss or GDW, I think Maniac can do it better. Maniac is good singer if he not drink too much...
What the fuck is Attila doing at the beginning? Sounds like he's in severe pain. But he is a god nonetheless in BM. Can you upload Freezing Moon or Funeral Fog or any song from De Mysteriis?

Dead and Maniac was awesome, but in my opinion - they both sucks compared to Attila! Just the intro of this song scares me, cause it is so fucking dark and evil! HAIL MAYHEM! HAIL ATTILA!!
Saw Them Yesterday In rotterdam ( holland ) it was realy amazing, I think Atilla is better than Maniac since i've seen him from so fucking close but no bad words about Maniac :D he is amazing too

There are best in their own album, I think Maniac can't sing "Ordo Ad Chao" properly and Attila just can't scream like Maniac. But Dead is the worst. He's famous just for his suicide....
