So many people have kids to use them as decoration. People who actually want to raise their kids seems strange to many.

My mom was looked down on for being a “stay at home mom”… Also she was very very pretty so a target with the ultra competitive moms. I remember mom teaching me to read when I was under two while she was ironing dads shirts. She also taught us the value of family meals with no phones or tvs allowed. So we learned social skills, how to converse, be grateful, debate both sides of a subject and appreciate actual human interaction. I kinda love this interview

I’ll admit I was as skeptical as Howard seemed towards Mayim’s theories on child rearing- but this woman is on point- *communal participation* it’s making so much sense to me- it’s kind of blowing my mind the way it needs to be blown -in order to rid myself of this rigid thinking I’ve developed

I have so much respect for Mayim's education. She is funny, outgoing, intelligent and adorable. Loved her in the movie "Beaches" her character was amazingly playful and a perfect pair with Bette Midler.

Attachment parenting is anxious parenting. It is overcompensating. Being too close and having minimal parenting boundaries can be damaging to kids. Marriages suffer with attachment parenting because there is little time and space for partner connection. And this damages families. Mayim herself is divorced. Moderation is better than extremes, and attachment parenting is not moderate.

Works well in secured and provided household. Where mothers can fully do their nurturing duties because fathers can fully provide all the security and financial needs of the family.
