I never thought I'd hear Dallas's amazing vocals on a track again. It's a miracle he is alive, and these lyrics just hit different knowing everything he has gone through to get here today. Song is absolute perfection!

His voice really is insane. Incredible he can still do that.. his screams back in the underoath days were insane too. The fact he's mastered 2 really difficult vocal styles is crazy.

I like how everything you’ve released never sounds like the previous thing yet always sounding like Maylene. This is definitely one of the heaviest versions of Maylene and I am all here for it. I hope there will be an album.

@@Ipo_Ooped_Maself Just google it. He was in a ATV accident and broke every bone in his skull and a ton of other stuff. Lost sight in his left eye.

@@Ipo_Ooped_Maself Hey. I'm Dallas's nephew. Since you're wondering, I'll share. In 2016, Dallas got into a really bad ATV accident, where it flipped on top of him. He almost died, and had to be airlifted to Shand's hospital. He was in the hospital for six weeks, fighting for his life. He has a brain injury from the accident that he still fights today (I know bc he lives with his parents, as well as me and my siblings). The doctors said he likely wasn't going to be able to perform again; they weren't even sure he was going to be able to walk -- he came out of the hospital in a wheelchair. He's made tremendous progress over the years, and keeps getting better each and every day, but there's still so much more to go.

When I first heard about what happened to Dallas I was fucking devastated. I remember seeing this band in Omaha and Dallas' charisma on stage was unforgettable. I was so scared he wasn't going to make it and that he'd be done making music forever. When I heard a new track was coming out I almost cried tears of fucking happiness. Thank you SO much for coming back to us, Dallas. We fucking missed you! This track is fucking NASTY!

I love it. It's raw gritty and heavy. As heavy as any of the older albums. I imagine it took a lot to get back to this level. But Dallas came back kicking in the door not rolling up in a wheelchair. I would welcome as much of this bleeding emotion as possible. I feel it in the lyrics. Welcome back MATSOD!

This is the most positive and supportive comment section I've ever read for a video of something as subjective as music. That is cool in itself. Really awesome to see this comeback! Heavier and more Banjo and an able bodied Dallas Taylor, so cool ! Badass video to boot. Something familiar, Something new. Darker no doubt a reflection of Dallas's fight to heal from injury. Awesome all around. Great memories with MATSOD as the soundtrack.

Where previous maylene songs featuring banjos sounded like two genres this one blends well and sounds like hard-core southern metal. A nod to old underoath and the first and third maylene albums. This seems to be the kind of music Dallas has wanted to create for a long-time. The fact that he is able is a miracle. This Made so many people happy!

Dallas, your road to recovery and how far you’ve gone is absolutely astonishing. We all have so much admiration for your fight to make it back and the bands support and loyalty to you and the fans. I don’t think there’s any band that’s had something like this happen and took an indefinite hiatus rather than finding a new frontman. This release means so much more than just a new awesome heavy track, it’s pure display of loyalty and support. God bless you all!

A vivid memory I have of seeing Maylene was at Warped Tour in SLC (maybe 2008?). Dallas climbed into the crowd and was delivering exploding high-fives to every possible person. I vaguely remember him also either ripping or cutting off his underwear through a hole in the side of his jeans. Take me home to southern remedies...come on baby!

I never knew the story of what happened to Dallas until this song popped up and I investigated. I just thought they broke up and that was it. I had the pleasure of meeting Dallas at warped 07 in Portland and he was the most humble and nicest dude I've met from a band. Gladly took a picture with me. Saw them in Seattle a couple years later. I have two of their set lists from the shows. I'm crying tears of joy following his journey of recovery and be able to witness this triumphant return. Matsod for life.
