man, thank you for this. wow. Maynard heaven. omg listening to this, I'm almost in tears. Man what a powerhouse. I remember a time seeing him hear in Baltimore , he made part of my ear resonate and I thought my head was gonna split open.
Thanks for these memories Ed. Enjoyed your earlier video of the band. As a 65 year fan back to the Emarcy and Roulette days, Maynard's music has been in my life more than any other performer's. Live performances for me go back to Birdland in '61 to his first concert on returning from England, in Town Hall, NYC and a concert in 2006 in upstate NY. In between, I was in Albany when you got rained out in the 90's in the spring of the year and missed out on that show.
Hello Ed. Ditto Big Daddy & Dan ... you're looking great. Last time we met was in front of the Blue Note in Tokyo. It was so special for me to have Maynard and Matt point me out in the audience for wearing my Maynard jacket and t-shirt. All the best to you. Robert Sullivan 🙏
ED: Thank you for this and Vol 1 was great!!!!! My wife Beth & I have so many fantastic memories that this is pure joy for us as well as many, many more folks out there.I must add that with out you these memories would not be as great as they are. You always treated us as family and even when my wife sjowed up at some little gig in Michigan you treated her like royalty. The whole Maynard experience would NOT be the same if it wasn't for you!!!!!! Bless you and happy fishing (when you get the chance)!!!!!!! Tim Froncek
at 1:12:08 the location is Grand Rapids, MN at the Myles Rief Center not Grand Rapids, Michigan. I was in 10th grade for this concert and it was a huge concert for the area. The HS Band sold tickets and was used as a band booster. I remember very well the Band Booster provided food and washed Maynards suits for him and the next morning the Band Director had to take the band to fly out in school vans because it was so cold Maynards bus wouldn't start.
I just might have audio from Anne Arundel Community College sometime in the 80's I think. I have a tape that says "erase this and die". I think its him. I've got to find a player and see.
