As painful as it is to digest this, it’s true. The motives are irrelevant at this time. The mayor must have known he is engaging in shady deals. It’s a known thing that people from that region, Turkey show their appreciation with gifts. The numbers here seem small but the optics looks bad. Power is a double edged sword.

I have a hot take, and that’s all it is so take it for what it’s worth. While not a Trump fan AT ALL the idea of a weaponized DOJ, regardless of party affiliation does seem plausible at this point. ADAMS is going to prison for a minimum of 10 years if he pleads guilty. If he don’t and takes it to trial they will hammer him with 20 plus a huge restitution bill. My friend Gordon Fox from RI went to prison for much less as a state rep.
