I’ve been to Mayrhofen many, many times. However I’ve never been in the Winter. I have severe asthma that reacts badly to extremes of temperature, especially cold. This video makes me want to try a way to get round it!
Thanks Tom. Apres is ok but they close the mountain bars at 5 (last gondola down) There are places in the village open until 10pm but we went back to the chalet after dinner for beers. It's not like pre-c but good enough for a needed mountain trip.
They’ve lifted the restrictions now, when we left they’ve extended the curfew from 10pm to midnight and now from 5th of March, apres ski will be back as most covid restrictions in austria are lifted…so jealous that you timed it right! Enjoy and have fun x

Thanks. I am a commercial pilot but in this case was flying the DJI mini 2 which is under 250 grams. In Austria you only need a permit for over 250. Mayrhofen is out side of the Innsbruck and Salzberg ATC zones to you are ok to fly in the mountains around Mayrhofen.
was almost there last season and looks like the slopes were the same for you! grooming seams to be non existent there which is a real shame such a nice place.
Hey Peter, Thanks for the comment :) In Austria you only need a permit for a drone over 250g. Mayrhofen is out side of the Innsbruck and Salzberg ATC zones to you are ok to fly in the mountains around here. Look at the DJI Fly app and it will tell you if you are near and airport or Heli pad. In the mountains, Heli ports are the most likely hazard but they tend to be in the resort or near to them. If you hear a chopper, just land quickly and safely. Happy flying.
