Maytag Neptune Cotton Sturdy cycle 

I miss my Neptune. It's was a very good machine. I gave it to my mom when she needed a machine and bought a Samsung top loader, mistake. The bearings started to go out and it was very loud when it spun. It lasted several more years like that, as I could not get them to get the bearings fixed and I did not live close enough to do it myself. It did not have a huge capacity but it sure washed clothes very well. Now I have an LG front loader with steam, via a heating element in the bottom of the tub, extra hot wash water option on certain cycles, an allergen cycle, and water plus feature. It's the model just under the turbo wash. I could not see spending 300.00 more for turbo wash to save 30 minutes or so a load. It's been great so far and can handle my king size comforter at 4.5 cu/ft. Thank you for posting this gem of a machine.

This was my favorite washer!! It does a great job cleaning your clothes. Unfortunately I no longer have one but I hope too get my hands on one again! The big issue on these were the bearings but my aunt has one that has about 13 yrs and it’s going strong with no issue

interesting that this machine does a near-100 RPM spin at the last minute of the final rinse, continuing to do so during the drain (probably causing the water to come out the machine in a torrent). i remember learning that it is to clean the drum

How did u bypass the lid switch? I have one but can’t bypass the lid lock

I counted three rinse cycles...did all the Neptune's do this by default?

Can you please get this washer back or could I have it by the way when did they stop making this washer or the Neptune altogether

these machines can has 2 major problems: the wax motor which starts the spin on spin cycles has a brown tip and is known to fail and the motor control board has three phases that each send 1/3 of the total voltage and wattage to the motor and if one of them fails, the motor will growl because it has an unbalanced voltage flowing through it which means it may not be able to spin loads if they are really heavy

please do more cycles

Why did you get rid of it and what happened to the LG
