Mayte is a renowned triple threat performer-an accomplished dancer, actor and singer/ songwriter, as well as the best-selling author of a memoir, "The Most Beautiful: My Life with Prince." Mayte's professional dance career began early in her life when Prince observed a video of her dancing and immediately took an interest in her talent, eventually leading to an offer to join Prince's New Power Generation (NPG) performance group. She danced with the NPG from 1992 to 1996. Mayte has appeared in numerous music videos, tours, award shows, and international television shows. She has gone on to provide dance instruction to artists such as Britney Spears, and continues to teach dance with limitless enthusiasm.
While working with Prince, Mayte recorded and released her debut album Child of the Sun, which charted in Europe; the video of which was in rotation on MTV Europe and on VH1 in the US. She was a songwriter and singer on various Prince and NPG albums and directed many of Prince's tours and music videos.
Mayte is actively involved with animal rescue efforts. In 2013, she founded Mayte's Rescue, a 501c3 non-profit. The organization has rescued and placed hundreds of dogs with caring and responsible dog lovers. @@Phoebbouffay --She's entitled to tell her story of her marriage, and so what if she makes some money? Lots of people associated with him have made money off their knowing him. Sheila E., Morris Day, Kim Barry, his photographers, bodyguards and lots of others wrote books about him and made money from it. Some of his band members still use his name to keep themselves relevant. His family certainly does. They will be making money off him forever. They even turned the Purple Rain house into a BNB. Why should Mayte be held to some different standard and criticized when none of them are?

I was just on a board reading comments and people were saying not so nice things about Mayte, I love her though and I thought the book was lovely, but not to belabor the point;this is her life story and she deserves to bring it to screen just as she had the right to write the book and Prince just happened to be her husband. However, I do understand why people would be concerned because it's going to be a challenging task to not make him look questionable, but circling back to what I said before, he happened to be her husband.

Its no surprise that Mayte sees paralells between Priscilla Presleys marrying Elvis having met him in Wiesbaden, and her meeting Prince in Barcelona - her parents( especially her Army Dad) traded her to Prince because they got the idea for making Prince her " guardian" from the Wiesbaden angle of the Presley marraige.

I think when they were going to make the Elvis movie people were like, "who will they get to play him?" But then they found Austin Butler, and he did a great job. He looked and sounded like Elvis. There's some actor out there somewhere who will be able to play Prince. and will do just as good a job. I don't think it will be a problem.

@@drindrin4530 it's a lot, but she was not really preaching to the people, she was still very much working for the dark side. She was racist to black people, which is strange since she was mixed, was stalking Prince, faked that letter that she says that Prince sent her to the hospital cause if you're familiar with her handwriting, especially how she writes her 'y's in cursive, it's a dead giveaway that she wrote it, & there's more but I have to look it back up but I'll leave you with this, I know people from the business that knew her, not a kind person in ANY SENSE of the word. Also, when you look at the last post that she did on Instagram, there is a really creepy picture that she photoshopped of Prince, which would actually add up to the stalking thing along with the letter that she faked. Even some things that she was stating about dying & hoping to see him there as well, which is creepy in itself.

I guess she doesn't have a life outside of Prince. She is going to spend the rest of her life talking about her life with Prince! We've heard it all before! Prince has been dead for 8 years, and they were divorced long before his death! Not to mention she is not the only woman that was married to Prince, and I never hear his other wife speaking of him, and it's because she's remarried, and she has a life, outside of Prince! I respect Sheila E. because she has a life, and doesn't spend all of her time talking about Prince. Sheila E. Was very close to Prince! When I saw Prince in concert in 2004, at the Staple Center, Sheila E. was his opening act. I am pretty sure that Sheila E. could tell us a lot more about Prince, but she has enough integrity to respect him, and she has a life, outside of her relationship with Prince.

Wow there are some real haters here. As she said it's her story. She met him when she was a teenager and he had a serious impact on her life her professional and her private life. She could not speak when he was alive because he was a private person.As you all say period but now that he's gone this is probably her way of healing from whatever happened between them especially the the birth and the loss of their child. I personally have been a prince fan since I was an age where I probably shouldn't have been a prince fan. I am still reeling from his death. I did not have a personal relationship with him but I have a personal relationship with him but I have a personal relationship with him but I have a personal relationship with his music. So I can only imagine what she has gone through in her life since his death and even before that. So step back and let her share her story.

Mayte lied about her relationship with Prince, she constantly continues to spin the story as if he's the bad guy, but thats not the case. She lied about her age, multiple times. She lied about how she met him, multiple times. She lied about her dance resume, multiple times. And theres so much more that she has lied about. Then, she went out with a minor named Wade Robson, she didn't tell you that. She abuses her animals, got on some account of former friends of hers & a person had kept saying that the dog that he recieved from her was basically skin and bones. She's been predatory towards fans about money for her rescue, literally kept harassing people about giving her funds. The relationship was also contractual as well, meaning that the marriage wasn't real, the marriage certificate doesn't even have a stamp nor the minister that 'married' them. Its so much more about their 'relationship' that was a lie. You don't anull someone for not being able to have kids. If that was the case, then why is it that he didn't have kids after her then? Has anyone else ever thought about that? Plus, she's not a good mother for what she puts her adopted kid through either, she's using her for her own gain to make people feel sorry for her & she even labeled her dead son, that wasn't even Prince's, as trivia. Then in October of 2023, she said that she received the ashes later on after saying for years that Prince burned them, & also stated that she heard it from hearsay, meaning that she wasn't telling you facts, you know, what she kept saying about her book even though she keeps straying from said book. Even in the same night said that she was in her 20's dancing on stage with him, even though she swears that she was in her teens. Then come to find out that she was ALSO in prison for CP & threatening to sell her own dead child's pictures to the tabloids. Then was spotted on April 20th & 21st at Paisley Park. Can't make this up, then was at a Santeria shop on the day of his death. There is even pictures of her at said Santeria shop. You know Santeria? A religion that sacrifices live animals. How quaint. So you tell me, how is she innocent? You sound stupid defending her.

damn it's been 24 years since they divorced, let her move on! They were only married for 4 years and before the marriage, Prince was dating Nona Gaye at the same time.
