What a beauty. A true credit to it’s owner. I had an 86 626 2.0 back in the 90s, great car which I thought was significantly ahead of it’s time. Would love to find another but classic Mazdas seem to be nigh impossible to find in Ireland these days. Haven’t seen any on the road or for sale in many years
Currently the 2nd owner of a Beige 1981 323, 1.5ltr, 4 sp manual sedan with factory air-conditioning, headlight protectors, front sun visor and rear louvre, it only had 82,000km on the clock when I bought it 3.5 yrs ago and now has 105,000
Family used to own two of these babies back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. I had sooooo many memories as a kid in those cars. Going to definately import one to the U.S in the future
i had one of these but only the 1100. It was an absolute beauty. I put it in the garage every night and had to give the engine a bit of a rev just to hear the engine . It was the smoothest quietest sounding petrol engine I have ever experienced- more like an electric motor really. I replaced it with the later model 5 speed 1.3- no where near as good !! Of all the cars we own , we all seem to have our favourites- this one was mine.
I have vague memories of an elderly couple that were best friends with my Auntie Anne & I think they had the Saloon version of this 323 ( post facelift though ). This model has similar straight lines in design to one of its main rivals I would imagine, the mark 3 Escort.
I had a 1987 Mazda 323 sedan when I was a kid. It broke down and got scrapped. I’m looking to restore one now. If anyone wants to sell theirs I’m looking to buy. I prefer white.
