You forgot the cylinder head cracking. I have a 2018 cx5 with 122000 miles. Regular maintenance and no problems up to current mileage. The cylinder head cracked this week and leaked oil all over the engine. I am paying $5000 to have the top end of the engine rebuilt. At this point I should have just bought a Benz if I wanted to deal with this shit. 😢
Had same thing done on my 2018 CX-5, it was caught "early" at 28K miles arms under warranty. This (cylinder head cracking) engine issue should have been on recall to repair. Plus, they should have clean the engine with oil all over it that I can smell the burning till it finally went away. 🤦♂️
Have a 2018 CX-5 GT loaded. With just over 33,000 miles on it, needed the switchable hydraulic valve lash adjusters (HLA's) replaced (known issue), water pump replacement (leaking coolant) and timing cover leaking oil (gasket replaced). Thankfully all covered under power train warranty. A bit surprised at the early failure of the water pump and timing cover gasket though. Also have experienced the terrible vibration issues due to the cold weather caused by the liquid filled motor mount (known issue). I find the car is also fairly sluggish when it comes to the lower gears. Finally, I have Crystal Soul Red exterior color which definitely chips easily as mentioned in your video. Best to buy a paint repair pen....you'll need it. Other then these issues (so far), it's a nicely equipped vehicle.
This is what mine is doing 2020 cx5. Has anyone experienced issues with CarPlay entertainment system - mine has started changing things on its own. Dimming the display, if phone is connected it randomly starts calling people. You can watch it do this on its own. Will also changed the channels on the radio. I think it has even armed and unarmed my car. This should be a recall issue. Is there a fix for this issue?
This bothers me while I’m considering buying one. I think there are only 2 options. 1 is to get the screen replaced but I think in all likelihood a replacement screen will end up doing the same thing. 2 Take it to the dealer or a auto electrician and have them disconnect the cables at the back of the screen that enable touch sensitivity, you will then only be able to use the control knob to navigate the screen, but the phantom actions should stop. I think if I buy one I might get that done on day one.
Apparently the 2020-2021 have issues with leaking timing covers . No recall but a TSB has been put infect. Its covered under warranty. I just bought a CPO and notice this leak so i did my research online and this is what came up. Glad i got the extended warranty will have car checked out ASAP. 😢
Interesting you mention this…I took my 2021 CX5 w/28K miles for new battery (covered by Mazda warranty). I requested oil change and was stunned that the dealership brought to my attention that the timing cover was leaking oil and fixed it - under warranty and provided no charge CX5 loaner. Thank God my battery died because I had no idea there was an issue and it will be out of warranty in 8K miles.
I have another problem with headlights, every time beam is different some of the times very short and makes car dangerous to drive at night, seems self leveling sensor issue
You are not alone experiencing this problem. I guess mine is worst… everything is dimmed. Bad news is.. it is highly expensive to replace and needs to be replaced as sets.. both driver and passenger sides :)… Unless otherwise you can go with non-OEM parts which costs $400 plus labor… Mazda must recall this too.
When it’s on automatic and you activate the high beam as well, it will turn it to normal light when it detects lights coming in front of you just to not bother the driver coming in front of you with the lights.
