@@iandowell8272 It's really easy to do. I only have ONE tip and that is to put the bolts in the exact place they came out. They're not all made equal and may strip on the way back in if it's not in the exact place it came out of.
@@iandowell8272Dealer quoted me $339 for plugs, I'll jst install them myself. They wanted $130 for two air filters, I bought both online for about half that price for Mazda3.
Great video. I just want to comment that if you see any dirt or debris around the spark plug tubes, vacuum it away so it doesn't fall into the cylinder.
Thank you for the CX-5 playlist. My brother has a 2017. I've added a Fumoto valve where a hose can be connected. I can drain the oil straight into an empty 5-quart jug while I do a tire rotation. I just ordered front/rear brakes/rotors, as well as spark plugs since he's getting close to 75K. I may also do the transmission and transfer case fluids.
Thanks for the video. I had not really looked at the engine and where the spark plugs were located. So glad it's easy to access. I got a little over 1,000 miles before I reach 40,000 miles. I will be replacing the spark plugs myself. Now that I see how easy it is. On my last car, 2007 3.1 V6 Chevy Impala, we had to tilt the engine to get to it. So glad I don't have to do any extra work. I do have to get a torque wrench, even though I have never used one other than when I rebuilt an engine on my Camaro back in the late 80's. THANK YOU so much for this video, it was really helpful. I appreciated and I appreciate you for taking the time to make it. 🤛❤ #HarrisWalz2024 🤭
There are a few women like myself who does this with our husbands, but to the society who doesn’t know we’re married will actually call us too masculine.
Thank you for that usefull video ! A stupid question, do you need to do an oil change after changing your plugs or it's because your oil change was due ?
@@abrahamolmos7370 ours leaked because we park on a slope. It didn't do it when we had a flat driveway. Do you often park on a slope? We switched to an AGM battery and we don't have any issues now.
Tip if you're using the spark plug socket: when you're putting the spark plugs in, use the spark plug socket but don't press the plug in all the way into the socket. Put the top of the spark plug in almost to the point where the hex is almost in the socket but not quite. This is like using the rubber tube (because the plug is being held by the rubber in the socket) but always you to get the plug in more accurately than a floppy rubber tube. The spark plugs do a good job at self aligning themselves due to the design and once you've turned the extension a few full revolutions, you can pull the socket off to make sure the plug is threaded and then put in back on to tighten.
URGENT ‼️ I am not able to insert 4th pipe(from left) in right now. It does not sit properly no matter what . I tired 100 times and it’s not sitting. Please help !
The turbo has a metal bracket on top that has to be unbolted. 4 bolts. Otherwise almost impossible to change the plugs (except far left). Turbo is more difficult.
The tube reduces the risk of cross threading the threads on the head. Sadly, it happens. I have had to repair some. So, it is not absolutely necessary, but it is a good precaution.
@@MaqsVids But the tube was bent, my extension with a socket bit is going to go straight and you'd feel the threads getting cross threaded that way as well.
@@gongshow20 Again, it's not absolutely necessary. The tube will slip on the plug before crossthreading, the socket and extension would not. You . ..😉 do not have to use the tube. 👌👍
