Thanks for taking the time to explain why I upgraded to the GTR plugs. It's one thing to upgrade, but it's another thing to know why it's so important to do the upgrade. I think you did a really good job at explaining it all. And I now understand it a lot more. I got my AEM filter and Exe air hose. But I'm still waiting on my Fab9 fuel pump. I've actually been logging my 0 to 60 times each time I change something. I finally got under 7 seconds with the V2 tune and GTR plugs.

I actually tested the resistance of the GTR plugs just to make sure they were real. Apparently the fake ones have resistances that are way off.

Picked up a '21 mazda 3 Turbo last week, and its right around 40k miles, so this is the perfect video! I'll be picking up some GTR spark plugs and dropping them in asap. I also plan to be reaching out for a tune down the road as well... I'm eager to beat my friend's '21 WRX STI ;) Great content and keep it up! Thank you!

28:01 I think we learn so far it’s best to stick with the oem motor mount at this point 😂😂 Very informative video on the GTR plugs I was told about these plugs last year from the one other tuner that I worked with. I like the response from them and everything however I notice my startup was a little bit longer to start from a cold start. I don’t know if it was from his tune or what but I know when I swapped out the plugs back to oem never had a problem with starting up from a cold start even in very snow cold weather like it was early this year.
@supermazda3

@@supermazda3 I’ve definitely been enjoying the recent tunes you been sending me lately. You definitely deserve more eyes on your tunes when more and more people are buying these cars. I’ve definitely been telling people in my area in Tennessee to get with you on tunes because they notice how responsive and quick my car is compared to theirs.

Once again very informative and important info. 👍 For a the 3 turbo with just bolt-ons and a tune would you still recommend the GTR plugs or stock are still good? And if GTR plugs also to regap to 0.026-.028?

So for N/A fourth gen just drop the ngk spark plugs in out of the box. They should be at .032 instead of the .044 but that’s to make sure the coil packs can still pick up the right amount of ions? I just want to make sure I understand this. So dropping the spark plugs in is for your sauce tune and not tunning right away? I will tune btw just asking. I need to drop off my car at the dealership because it has been making a weird metal grinding noise that seems to be coming from the rear. When I lift all four wheels and give it gas the noise becomes much louder. I think it could be the rear differential. I’ll let Mazda figure it out. I changed all the rotors & pads, even replaced a wheel hub assembly. Still the noise. Thanks Justin, great informational video.

You'll be fine without the plugs, but if you're planning on tracking the car or hard canyon runs for an extended time. Definitely add the plugs

Thanks for the knowledge sharing. Im currently using NGK plugs but they are gapped slightly smaller at 0.030 and heat range is 7 instead of 8. Plug part number is 90288. Just wondering if these were fine also. I have a 21 mazda 3 turbo hatch PP AWD. Aftermarket parts are BMS CAI, BMS OCC. Running JB4 but will be using you once im ready for a real tune. Will most likely change to the plugs you prefered when i get your tune.

Heyo! I have a question - I’ve been recently modding my 16 Mazda 3 2.5 hatch, just suspension mods. You seem to have a ton of info on actual power mods for these cars, so is there any specific tune/sc/tc you would recommend? I’ve heard a ton of horror stories about modding these, and I’m worried to even look into something like an sc bc I don’t want to blow my engine up so I figured I might as well ask to see your opinion… thanks!🙏
@epilzner1
@epilzner1 2 месяца назад
He's a tuner, so he'll probably recommend his own tuning services. As far as SC/TC goes, there's only one kit for either. Plenty of people running the SC with no issues as long as it is properly supported. You can find more info on NA mods in his other videos!

Yes but the oem Skyactiv-X spark plugs are already heat range 8 and the same gap of 0.03" the only difference is the duel iridium tips
@supermazda3
@supermazda3 2 месяца назад
I take that back, even though they will fit Bosch plugs that the Skyactiv-X comes with is a different resistance 6000ohm vs the 5000ohm of Skyactiv-G

The plugs actually might increase power since the resistance is lower, but you have to be careful because i heard Skyactiv-X is sensitive. Make sure to disconnect the battery during the spark plug change
