Well, Mazda knocked another one out of the park at this year’s Tokyo Motor Show. If you remember, two years ago they did the same exact thing with their gorgeous RX-Vision concept. Now, for 2017, they’ve just unveiled TWO different design studies, the Mazda Vision Coupe and Mazda Kai Concept, and they’re both sexy AF.

The difference between a pure Japanese design esthetic and Americans attempting Japanese design (new NSX) is very noticeable. Mazda is killing it. Can't wait to see what the production versions look like. Look forward to more Tokyo coverage!

That Mazda 3 Kai looks pretty realistic to what they might start selling over the next couple of years. The headlights and rear take inspiration from their new CX-5 and CX-9 designs!

AZWZ i think the production design of the 2019 Mazda 3 will be almost as gorgeous as the Kai concept with the new Skyactiv-X engine. We can expect it at the 2019 Tokyo Motor Show as the Star attraction.

Wish to turn Vision Coupe into a rear wheel drive Mazda 6 4 door coupe and 2 door hardtop with 2.0 supercharged Skyactiv-X 4 cylinder and a rotary hybrid or range extender known as RX6 rather than a doomed notchback family sedan with 3.3 turbocharged 6 cylinder now focuses for the CX-60 and CX-90 sport utility vehicles.

They almost did. Back when Lexus and Acura were getting started, they wanted to build a luxury brand themselves but they pulled out. I guess they figured it was too much competition.

Look into the Mazda Millenia, they started production in 1993. "Millenia" was supposed to be the name of Mazda's luxury division in the early 90's. Mazda built the car, but decided that a luxury brand was not viable, so after one generation they scrapped the idea.

I can totally imagine the sedan competing with the BMW 5 series. Running a 300hp 2.5 Skyactiv-X and a diesel option. I hope the can extract the interior volume out of this shape to make a solid Mazda 9!!

Mazda Vision Coupe must become a rear wheel drive Mazda 6 5 door liftback and a 3-door coupe with supercharged Skyactiv-X 4 cylinder and a rotary hybrid or range extenders known as RX6 rather than a doomed 4 door notchback sedan with 6 cylinder turbo now focuses for the CX-60 4wd sport utility vehicle, Mazda Kai is already a Mazda 3 equipped with the supercharged Skyactiv-X 4 cylinder as the Astina mild-hybrid sport hatch but needs a 3 door and AWD.

Absolutely stunning. My only gripe with Mazda is their engine option. I feel like their designs are breathtakingly beautiful but the performance is somewhat lacking. I hope their new engine can push out more power to match their sporty design.

I don't think, that the Mazda's has lack of power. I own a CX-5 Diesel and this car has more than enough power for all-day use. I really like, that don't take place in this ridiculous power race of the other brands. The figures make look good on the brochure, but are useless in your daly drive.

I'm in the minority of drivers who drive spiritedly. I like torque and power. Unfortunately, Mazda has not offered their Diesel engine in the U.S. yet. It doesn't have to be crazy, just a little more for my taste. It should be comparable to the top engines offered by Toyota and Honda in their family sedans.

Here in holland in particular you have a point. 165 bhp petrol is plenty for a Mazda 3 and CX-3. Unfortunately that engine option is limited to the GT-M which also boasts a full leather interior. I believe many would love that engine available at lower tiers. Like for instance the TS or TS+

they both look great , design of a car is very important to me. talking about Honda and Toyota , they both ain't doing that great in European sales, but I have seen a huge increase on the side of Mazda. therefore I have ordered an mx5 and traded in my Renault Clio 4 cheapo frenchy piece of molded plastic.

Consider 2.0 supercharged Skyactiv-X 4 cylinder and a rotary with range extenders instead of 3.3 turbocharged 6 cylinder is powering on CX-60 4wd sport utility vehicle is just the beginning of gas-guzzling 6 cylinder SUVs since outmoded Tribute V6 and CX9 V6.

Mazda is equipping them with superchargers rather than turbochargers because the steadier and more consistent fuel-air mix is necessary for the compression ignition process. Aftermarket tuning of these things is going to be a more delicate process than with other cars.
