Thanks for making this video, it's very helpful. I have a question; is the shifter shaft keyed so that you can't put it on backwards? I was a little nervous you didn't mark it before knocking out the tension rod.
Hello. Thanks for posting this video. I have the same problem with my mazda. If I have the same leak, do I have just to change the oil seal or do I have to change also the little bearing? I saw that you changed the little bearing but would like to know if that is necessary to solve the oil leak. Also, what did you use to remove the oil seal and bearing respectively? Thanks!
Do you have a part # for that plastic bushing you said to "not lose"? Mine broke from being kinda brittle and falling apart when reassembling. Now the shifts are all difficult.
Yes I would use a screw driver pop the seal out then clean the alum area if it has any corrosion hold it upside down and clean it making sure nothing goes in the bearing and you can use soap on the face of seal to help it slide in better and use a socket to press it down
