y'all have been on one helluva ride for these 40+ years, and praise God you're still on it! I will always treasure and sing and jam to your wonderful music! Keep on riding, and roll as long as you can, we'll be right there with you for the party!! Thanks, MAZE for this body of work and for those fantastic shows!!!! TISH
I have an 11 year old that I got turned on to this. If I pop in their cd all I hear is my baby voice singing maze. I'm a proud momma but I reminisce my father playing their albums just about everyday. Sitting on the porch with his towel over his shoulder drinking a cold beer or glass of ice tea singing and two stepping to Maze. He went to many of their concerts. Lord I miss my dad and that good music.
Saw Maze and Frankie last night in Columbia, SC. Simply Awesome. This is the second time I've seen them in concert. Rock and Roll has the Rolling Stones and lovers of real R&B have Frankie Beverly and Maze!!!!!!!!!
ME BEING A TRUE DEDICATED MUSICIAN AS I AM, I APPRECIATE ALL THE TEACHING I HAVE RECIEVED FROM ALL OF THE MUSICIANS OF MAZE I HAVE LEARNED AND HAVE KEPT WITH ME EVERY SINCE THE EARLY 70s'. KEEP ON DOING WHAT YOU ALL ARE DOING FRANKIE. SOMEDAY GOD WILL BLESS BE TO JOIN YOU ALL ON STAGE AND I KNOW TOGETHER WE WILL TURN THIS NATION OUT WITH THE LOVE TOUR OF THE CENTURY. TONEY HIGH, AkA T-BONE HIGH.
Last year I went to a KBLX festival with Gladys Knight, Cameo and Frankie Beverly, 10 hours of crazy love! When this song played, my heart grew 10 inches! This has always played in my house, my family knows every word, kinda like our anthem -- I always preach to appreciate all moments, the simplest things can make you happy and smile...take it all in, carry the love so when the heavy times come...you're suited up to overcome--- I love Frankie Beverly! He's silky soul!
Sweet, sweet Frankie and and wonderful Maze!!! I love this Classic from them, it, no they are timeless TREASURES for us to enjoy. And believe me, I really do!!! Thanks for the post.
My dad would play this song whenever my parents had an argument. They'd end up dancing in the living room for hours. As a kid, I was unable to comprehend what this song truly meant. I knew it sounded good and my parents weren't yelling at each other anymore. Now as a husband and father myself, Joy & Pain is perfectly clear. I understand what affect it had, not only on my parents but on me and how I was able to watch their interactions, learn from them and apply them in my marriage. Thanks MAZE!
This is truly an all time jam. Frankie is one of the first to get his audience involved in his message. God bless for allowing me to witness this artist.
When I was going through my spiritual cleansing such a rough road i had this song tuned in my mind all the time. It reminded me that true peace comes with solid life lessons. like the refining fire this song is to me a comforting guide through the hard times. Man music just aint real no more is it. Thank god for musicians past or we'd be in a soulless musical hole today. God bless maze and frankie beverly.
An inspirational sound, top Choon, always uplifts me, whenever I hear it. Its brought me through some tough and fun times. Frankie Beverley's voice and the MAZE musicians are the business, never bettered!!!
This song is really helping me get thru horrible divorce!!!!! It make my cry and release the pain instead of keeping in bottle up!!!!!! Thanks G-D for his blessings thru the sound of music
What makes Maze amazing is ... the genuine love expressed and felt through the music ... that's why you will never forget a Maze concert and nobody goes on after him. Frankie and Maze are the closers!...stay connected
I saw them sing many years ago at an outdoor concert and wow it was amazing. the people kept wanting more and more. I remember in my youth listening to their music for hour and hours at a time. what our kids are missing out on is unbelieveable....Unless we pass this music on to them they will never know true love songs.
I always think of my Son Brandon when I hear this song . I wanted a baby boy so desperately and God heard my prayer and gave me a Beauitful Baby July 15, 1981 and I named Him Brandon Lynn Crosby he brought my so much joy and then January 14,2004 He was shot and killed and all I could say was joy and pain.
I was fortunate enough to see them in concert Oct 2010 in Las Vegas, I purchased standing room only - let me tell you the only way to go! You will never sit down at this show!!! Love you Frankie Beverly & Maze see you this Oct back in Vegas.
Frankie Beverly music is awesome. His songs take me way back. My brother who passed away in 2003 loved all his songs, and never missed a concert when he came to town. May he R.I.P.....FLA Jr.
With the love, effort, and perfection Frankie Beverly & Maze put into their songe and live performances I can't understand why in the world they have been overlooked by the music industry with winning awards.
Frankie Beverly's soothing soulful groove message is as relevant in 2014 as it was when I first met him and his original "Raw Soul" members when he packed those clubs in Philly (70's) . Be encouraged Frankie and Maze band members!
AWESOME, WHAT A WAY TO BRING IN THE FOURTH OF JULY....... ONE OF MY FAVORITES, AMONG MANY OF THEIR OTHER SONGS. YES 35 YEARS THAT WAS A SO GOOD, MY HUSBAND AND I WERE GROOVING TO THE BEAT. THANKS FOR POSTING. GOD BLESS ........

There are times in ONEs life that if they happen upon music that moves the soul, there can be no better group of artist such as Franky and Maze, This group is the last connection to what music is really about: Big Band having fun and a jam session. OLD SKOOL.
they left me in trance awhil ago on Bet awards, they are a once in lifetime experince. everyone was on there feet at tha Bet awards ceremony and singin just like they are in this video wow.
soooo many wonderful memories! 70's was the best music ever and happy I lived in it and through it and all around... yeah! like "Sunshine and Rain! Love can be sweet..Joy & pain" says it all! love Maze - true muscians forever xoxoxox
Remembering A.I.T. Training @ Fort Gordon, GA and listening to Frankie Beverly. Just Smooooooth as SILK. Fall of 1980 in the Land of Knuckleheads and G.I. Joes and can't forget the Janes, no Sir, they are the ones that kept our Morale "UP".
aaaah memories! we were a 'British' American Football team when this was out, I have fond memories of one of our cheerleaders singing this, and the rest of the bus joining in the chorus when we traveled to and from home games.......a great mood lifter if we lost or won!!
I saw them in concert in 1980. Did not know who they were. Asked my friend Reggie(the coolest guy I knew) and he put me on to this fantastic group. As an aside. thirty years later I had a student whose dad played for this group. He was great!
Well,Frankie gets everything,to make people,love him!!!.Handsome,Good looking guy,great voice,wonderful music!!!,& so on.How not to Love him???.By the way,we,in Europe,Love the African American music,to Death!!!!.Greetings from Spain!!!. :-) !!!.
Let's me know...Spring time is near. One of those songs you just start driving and open the sunroof, roll the windows down, while the sun is out... and just ride!!
+brensboy12 Those shows were incredible. They not only sounded even BETTER THAN THE RECORDS but there is something about Frankie's voice and their music that made it seem like they were singing to you, not a crowd of people.....
Crowd kept the beat going after the band stopped playing. Black people this is something that is unique to us. We hear and feel music differently. That was amazing.
Just saw him for the first time last night... and I am regretting that I have not saw him before.. He put on a good show in spite of the change in his voice.
