The way they were described in the book was terrifying, because they were rotting away and really strong and fast, they could also talk and were scarily clever and could smell the Gladers. They weren't just normal zombies, they were terrifying. But the way they are portrayed in this film isn't anywhere near as scary as the book. Still a great job
