The lyrics of the song come from 1240s from a sufi poet named Yunus Emre. In those years, long before enlightenment in Europe, the Anatolian land was thriving with humanist atmosphere with Turks, Greeks, Armenians, Jews trying to build that atmosphere. The lyrics reflect that air of peacefulness and friendship and no prejudice against each other. It goes saying, "we do not know what the hate is, all the world is the same for us"

Song has a deep meaning since Yunus was also a Sufi mystic. Miskin simply means "mystic" in tasavvuf. Song is about "tawhid" which is unity in all creation. In some deeper meanings it can be understood as "there is nothing but God herself in the whole universe and even beyond". Love and light to you all :)

For some of these I don't even know how to explain the sound. ş = sh (easy) ı = No idea how to explain the dotless I. Sounds like a mix of u and i or u and e. Also in non Turkic latin Alphabets, the capital version of i is I. But in Turkish I is the capital version of the dotless I. The easiest way to explain it (after thinking about it for a while, it's basically the 'e' in "The". ğ = This is a letter that isn't pronounced. E.g "ağlama" (don't cry) is pronounced as aalama. soğuk (cold) is pronounced as so'uk. Technically it is pronounced, but in most words it just disappears and isn't heard. Regular Turkish G is similar to the English one. But not to the Dutch G which is a gutteral cchhhh sound, that doesn't exist in Turkish. Even though when I was younger I'd see Dutch racists mock Turkish making all these weird gutteral sounds.. that don't exist in Turkish but are extremely common in Dutch lol. ö = Sounds like "uuuuhhmm" Only the uuu part lol ü = sounds like the u in superman / super / uber / ç = sounds like TJ / CH (Checkmate / Chechnia ) Lastly, our regular i in capital for also has a dot. Which might be really confusing to some people. E.g The name İrem. It's prounounced E-rem (rem like rem-sleep, e like email.
