The Mbale City health department and police arrested 18 people for smoking Shisha and other substances in public places, as part of an operation to enforce the Tobacco Control Act of 2015. The operation targeted bars and other gathering places, and five of the suspects arrested were women. Health officials warned about the dangers of smoking, including its impact on non-smokers, and leaders expressed commitment to combating the vice.
