Great to see that you've installed it with ease, cracking vlog 😉👍, can't wait to see what you do with it next, hope your back gets better soon Louise 😎🤞👊👍👍👍....
Even Greg Virgoe doesn’t have something that!!😲😂 that’s a proper sweet install, seems like a good buy if it can replace lots of different meters and displays all in 1👍🏼 never knew anything like that was on the market so I’ll definitely have a look in to it . Thanks Lou 😁
Hi Ant, if you're running victron chargers it's definitely worth looking at! So much info available on your power usage etc as well as all the other suff. Thanks for watching 😁👍
Finally watch the full video. So yeah I've been looking at the R-pi over the last few weeks. Thankfully my boyfriend is a wiz with all and it's gonna write a programme for the Pi to set up everything. Nice to see this I'm gonna get on with the electrics soon.
Great bit of kit - I’m cursing a little as I’d bought the victron cerbo GX and touch 50 before seeing this! (Luckily got good deal lol) would really have liked to have the switching as you have but have a work around. Yours looks a really tidy solution
Thanks Michelle, the victron ones are expensive lol! I'm loving the switching, sounds like you've found a work around tho, it's gonna be so handy for us with the animals in the van 😁 thanks for watching 👍
i can see that your new system has its uses and will no doubt add value to your van if you come to selling personally im still getting to grips with your 240v hook up vid even though it has inspired me to get off my arse and do my electrics on my camper, the new system looks great, hope your back gets better soon much love, mouse.
Hi mouse, one step at a time, I remember when I Di the 240v, I was terrified, if you had told me then what I'd be capable of now I wouldn't have believed you lol!! Good luck with your electrics 😁👍
@@campervibe one of the things i like about you guys you always reply even though your becoming well known you still have time for the little people, never forget that, much love mousexx
Hi mouse, we try our best, we are guilty of missing some though, especially with the Instagram as well as this channel. We will keep trying to reply to comments as long as we can if the channel grows. One of the things we love about it the most is speaking to all of you guys 😁👍
Awesome 👌 nicely done as always. You two really crack me up love the banter. Looks cool how you've mounted it. I think your wife an me have the same... can't help myself its costa addiction 😂... The way you've tackled the electrics is spot on 10/10.
Thanks mate, that bloody Costa addiction is costing me a fortune, reckon they're laced with nicotine lol!! Cheers for the approval on the electrics, means a lot that 😁👍
Jeez Louise, I have to admit I had absolutely no idea what you were on about at the beginning 😬 However totally amazed by the kit and the install, it looks fabulous no wonder you are pleased with it. Hopefully your back gets better soon. Loved the poo dance Emily 😂 Great video as always guy's.
Oh no hope your back is on the mend....no nothing about electricals but I’m very jealous.....mine is from the dark ages! Hopefully one day see you on the road xx
Hi Helen, neither did I until we built this van lol!! I'm getting there with it tho. Can't wait to get on the road, hope to see you out there 😁 thanks for watching 👍
Great video, love the new toy. Can you format it so light switching is on main screen. It seems a lot of hassle to go to relay menu every time. Using phone very cool, but in middle of night I'd want the light switching easier.
Hi Craig, to be honest I've not looked that far into it. I've left one of our lights on a switch, just in case Emily's had one too many and can't navigate the system lol! 😂😂
The relay page stays on the same page, so if you turn off the light, woke up and wanting to turn the light back on via the phone or on the MBC that page is left open in order to turn the light back on. However we are currently looking into placing the switches on the main page 😉👍.
Morning Girls great in depth video again 👍🏻 Just picked up this weekend my camper to be Hopefully i can do most of it myself 65plate pug boxer L3 L2 Youre Vids inspired me and thought why not 🤞
Wow David that's so exciting!! Most of it is pretty easy once you start to break it down, just bloody hard work lol!! Good luck, if you need anything give us a shout, not sure how helpful we can be tho lol! 😂😂
Loved Emily's bit of 'magic'😂.....better be careful what you say about her.... might have some 'revenge' ideas in mind!!......also your electrics 'magic'.....ok I mean expertise....very impressive and ultra high tech...particularly the remote lights !!.....Next week I am expecting to see a robot making your cups of tea and Emily lounging in the hammock waiting for remote delivery of snacks !? Well done again you two.. Loved it as usual sue (bham Nan )
😂😂 If only there were a robot to make the tea lol!! That would be great 😁 I'm not sure I have expertise yet but I'm definitely learning all the time! Really enjoying the electrics, never would have thought we could achieve this right at the start. Thanks for watching 😁😁
Hi, just dropped on this vid, we are using the victron gear in our build but really like the look an usability of this, is there a link to a supplier available please
Looks a great bit of kit and enjoying the series. A thought, could you use a file or dremmel on the plastic back for the screen/pye unit to allow this to be refitted behind your facia panel with longer screws. This could just protect the unit from dust or bits of insulation.
I’m upgrading the electronics on my boat in particular a charger/inverter, battery disconnect switches all Victron and have been doing some research on the raspberry pi controller. It seems that it takes the place of the 712 battery monitor that you have but I just wanted to clarify that you don’t need that to read data from the system anymore since you were using the raspberry pie and Victron connect software. Is that correct? Great job and thanks- Chad
Hey guys! I hope I'm not asking a question that someone has already asked. But, where can I find a link to the entire starter kit. I tried googling 'Mbc battery starter kit' but nothing came up that looked like your setup? Btw, I love your videos esp the series in Norway. Nice to see my homeland from your pov. X
camper vibe I know Spunky has thought of a brilliant peace of kit and we chat on Instagram. But me being a pensioner on little money I can only do one step at a time and it seems I take one step forward to get my build done then find problems with the van it self that needs sorting out which I have to keep on top of with it being a old van for the MOT . I can take my van to bits and rebuild it that’s not a problem it’s paying for parts that’s my problem, having said all that I would highly recommend Spunky and his MBC System
@@thebeardedadventurer660 the bmv is fairly easy, you'll smash it, it's gotta be easy, Emily fitted ours 😂 Yeh it's a really cool bit of kit, I'm loving it so far 😁😁
😂😂 There are plenty of women that work as hard as we do lol! I've worked full time my entire life but I would argue that being a full time housewife/mum/partner is the hardest job on the planet, its 24/7, not like the easy 40 hour work week. Maybe you mean more women that can do this TYPE of work??
Nice insight, but you didn't show the swapping out of the twin water gauge monitor for the sensors. I am particularly interested in knowing how this is incorporated in to the system as the Cerbo GX only accommodates resistive sensors so I don't understand how you would have integrated this in to this setup? Can somebody shed some light on this please?
Hi Monica, it's scores for the games we play, cards, in car bingo, a game called tractor, I'm sure they'll feature in a vlog soon. We hope it settles down too, we just can't handle it lol!
Great video as always guys. Also great looking bit of kit. Interested to know how it goes long term 👍 Hope your back gets better soon Louise. By the way, shhh 🤫 keep an eye on Emily, I think she might be having a relationship with a frappuccino 😲🤫
Hi, new subscriber here, so been playing catch up on all your great content, didn't see the link to the MBC in the description, has it been removed? Is it this one Victron Energy GX Touch 50 Touchscreen Display, keep up the great contend loving it
Very nice. I wonder if there's a dirt cheap solution for the Chinese kit I'll inevitably be using in my Van. I do have an old Raspberry pi 3 knocking about be nice to put it to some use.
@@campervibe quick question - have you gone all one brand in order for it all to talk to the unit? I'm thinking about going victron b2b non-isolated 30A. What say you oh guru of all things electrical?
To be honest they are the ones that came with it, gonna be relocating them to better spots in the van soon tho so I'm sure we will show it in an upcoming vlog.
@@Spunky.sparks 😂😂 Yeh but I would have ended up with a shit tonne of little metal blobs all over the worktop if I'd have attempted it where that wire comes down the wall lol.
Love your videos, love you guys ur both such a laugh. Awesome gadget and cool things it does. Glad to know how it works and looks. Hope your back gets better louise, Get Emily to rub it better. 💕
Lou only an idea but if your bed has gas struts you could lift up from the garage side for easier access, save you emptying it all out when you want to get to electrics. plus you will be able to stop Emily laying in bed when yr working 🤣
Not quite. You need the input output board as well as setting changes. Mine has had custom changes made to the generator page so that it has my water heater on a voltage relay. Which is all done in code. Spunky had done a great job of plugging all the gaps. The software is open source to download so that you can tinker around. However from experience I would say the difference between a turn key solution and starting out with a pi on its own is a word of difference in my opinion.
Pointless copying anyone's it's open source from here www.victronenergy.com/ Each one is custom built for the customer needs and as Jeff alluded to the ' A2D board ' you'll need one of them for it to work properly, plus we see who's copied it on our side and block it!!! 😉👍.
You might be Girls ( I am going to be so killed for that ) Have you looked at your Van lately, In this vlog there are a few inside panning shots, You van looks so Nice and well Done. There is many a Bloke who will be Jealous of how good your van is :) xxx.
Thanks David, no offence taken lol, there already are a few men who are envious. Fortunately on here so far all the guys have been supportive and never condescending which is so refreshing! Get an awful lot asking for advice too, just shows how much the world has changed 😁😁
That looks like the brains of the unit is a raspberry Pi . Perfect application for one of those. They have also just released a cheap micro controller unit (the Pi-Pico) so I expect MBC might have some new toys soon..
