In Franconia there is a privately run but very extensive museum, which is largely dedicated to Bundeswehr, NVA and US Army technology. And not only military technology, but also civil technology is shown to the interested visitor.
In several halls, wheeled and tracked vehicles, cannons, hand weapons, equipment, etc. from the last decades - including treasures like a Cheetah B2 (yes, that's right, without a laser range finder) - are shown and brought closer to the visitor.
The museum is run on a voluntary basis and, in addition to its own exhibits and loans, also shows exhibits from various private collections.
In addition to the museum operations, there are also model building meetings and an annual museum festival at which many of the ready-to-use exhibits also make their rounds in the adjacent field. This is definitely a weekend that you should put in your calendar already now.
Anyone who carefully walks through the museum can easily spend a few hours here and enjoy the exhibits.
