The newest automation concept for MBO folding systems is autonomous production. Once the sheets are loaded into the pallet feeder, the operator can remove himself from the process. The Autopilot feature controls the start and stop sequence for job changes, the VT50 Inspection Unit verifies that each signature is folded within tolerances and the CoBo-Stack palletizes the finished products. The entire process is hands off! Furthermore, all the production data and job set up data can be managed and automated using Datamanager 4.0. Folder speeds can increase, quality can be objectified, and productivity and be maxed out. This is the profile of the "new bindery" for the printing industry.
